María Becerra Dazzles While Singing the National Anthem in a Look Inspired by the Argentine Flag

20 July 2026

María Becerra was one of the prominent figures in the lead-up to the 2026 World Cup final. Just minutes before the match between Argentina and Spain, the singer performed the Argentine National Anthem before a MetLife Stadium filled to capacity, with millions of viewers watching the ceremony from various corners of the world.

For an occasion of such magnitude, the artist opted for a look specially crafted to pay homage to the country. She wore a dress inspired by the colors of the Argentine flag, with a silhouette that appeared to envelop her figure in sky blue and white, in keeping with the ceremony’s spirit.

The dress was created by Abel Cepeda, a designer from Mendoza and founder of the corsetry brand SEKS, based in New York for more than twenty years. The styling and design direction were led by Natalia Campos Valencia.

Cepeda’s name had already taken center stage during this World Cup, as he was responsible for the bustier Pampita wore in one of the tournament’s early dates, a piece that set trends with its sophisticated imprint and corsetry craftsmanship.

On this occasion, the designer again opted for an exclusive creation, conceived especially for a ceremony watched by millions.

The piece was conceived to recreate the movement of the Argentine flag across the singer’s body. The combination of sky blue and white tones, together with a construction of clean lines and a sculpturally inspired silhouette, turned the dress into a true homage to the national colors.

A new milestone in María Becerra’s career

María Becerra’s involvement in the opening ceremony of the World Cup final marks a new step in her international career.

The artist has already made history as the first woman to perform four concerts at River Plate Stadium, two of them in 360° format, in addition to gracing global stages like Coachella and Times Square.

She is currently touring Spain with her concerts while presenting her latest music project, Quimera. In the coming months she will continue with a series of shows across Latin America and will cap the year with eight sold-out performances at Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires. Simultaneously, she is taking part in the filming of the new season of En el Barro, Netflix’s production.
