Last Sunday, August 23, Lali Espósito was invited to the stream hosted by Martín Cirio to discuss in depth various aspects of her life. Among past romances, personal achievements and some of the controversies that have surrounded her recently, the interviewer tackled one of the topics that generates the most attention: her bond with China Suárez.
Cirio asked her about one of her most talked-about statements regarding who was her co-star in Rincón de luz, Cris Morena’s emblematic show that they played in from 2003, and later in Casi Ángeles.
In an interview given months ago, Lali had explained that she currently does not consider China Suárez a friend. This time, she went further into the reasons and made clear that there is no feud between them.

“There’s always a commotion when I say we aren’t friends. We aren’t friends at this moment in our lives,” Lali stated forcefully.
However, she immediately clarified that this does not mean she has stopped feeling affection for the actress. “But, you know those people you love because of history? I love her because we shared a bathroom, we used the restroom together when we were twelve, those things you don’t forget,” she admitted, referring to the childhood they shared and the years they have known each other.
“Besides… we know each other. We know each other’s lives, each other’s values, each other’s stories, the childhoods… So I don’t get involved in that fight that flares up when perhaps I say that she is a person who isn’t part of my daily life
”, she explained.
In that sense, Lali detailed how their relationship stands today: “I don’t go to her birthday, she doesn’t come to mine, she doesn’t know how I’m doing, she doesn’t know what happened to me, and I don’t know about her.”
The singer also questioned how social networks can alter perceptions of personal relationships. “Friendship on social media is somewhat overvalued. It’s as if, just because you follow someone or you have history with someone, they’re your friend,” she noted.
Lali explained that she is very careful when defining someone as a friend and that she reserves that term for people who are part of her daily life. “I’m wary of friendships. Jealous of guarding those things, because there are a lot of people I love, who I respect, who seem the best. If I host a big event, I invite them. But my friends… I don’t say that just anyone is my friend; it’s not someone who isn’t in my daily life,” she asserted.
Despite the distance, the singer made clear that her good wishes toward China remain intact. “I love her, I always wish her joy. Whatever joy means to her. I don’t know what’s happening in her life right now. But whatever she is hoping for, I hope she gets it. She has her kids… I want her to work and do very well,” she expressed.
Then she was even clearer about the nature of their bond: “I want her to be happy with the family she has formed, that’s what I feel. It’s not that something happened or that we fought; it’s just that for many years we haven’t had a friendship. So calling her “friend” for the sake of saying it feels odd.”
Moreover, Lali admitted that she often rejoices when she hears some positive news about the actress, despite the fact that they no longer share each other’s daily lives.

During the conversation, another episode that had fueled speculation about the singer also came up. Lali acknowledged liking posts from Wanda Nara, though she denied doing it with the intention of provoking a reaction.
“I never do that kind of thing. I’m not someone who likes something just to see how the other person reacts. I couldn’t care less about almost everything,” she insisted.
In this way, Lali again publicly referred to her relationship with China Suárez and sought to make clear that, although they are no longer friends, there is a shared history since childhood and a lingering affection.
