Juli Poggio showcased a Halloween makeup look inspired by Hello Kitty, featuring graphic liner, shimmer, simulated blood, and a creative hairstyle.
A red bow, a yellow nose, and three black whiskers are enough to recognize the character. But in Juli Poggio’s makeup, the sweet Hello Kitty image takes an unexpected turn: the red brushstrokes, the bold liner, and the exaggerated lashes transform the concept into a look designed especially for Halloween.

The creation belongs to makeup artist Lautaro Eros Ferrante (@makeupbylautaro) and demonstrates that a well-crafted makeup, paired with a purposeful hairstyle, can become the centerpiece of the entire look.
Juli Poggio’s Hello Kitty-inspired makeup
The foundation of the look preserves several of the character’s most recognizable cues. The small shiny red bow sits on the forehead, while the yellow nose and the drawn-on whiskers on the cheeks complete the reference.
In the eyes, the makeup becomes more theatrical. White and silver eyeshadow covers the lids and extends toward the brows, accompanied by small sparkly accents. The black liner, with graphic ends and emphasized lashes, adds drama and creates a strong contrast with the intense pink blush.

The lips wear a pink-nude shade with gloss, a choice that balances the more striking elements of the makeup without competing with them.
The terrifying twist that transforms the character
The initial sweetness is completely altered with the addition of red paint that simulates blood. The marks appear on the forehead, around the mouth, on the chin, and along the neck, as if the sweeter Hello Kitty version had walked through a scene of horror.

That contrast is, precisely, the device that underpins the entire concept: a character associated with adorableness is reinterpreted through a dark aesthetic, without losing its most recognizable traits.
The result does not rely on a complex characterization. It’s a matter of a few strategic details—the color, the graphic lines, and the simulated blood—that shift how the makeup reads.
The braided hairstyle that recreates the ears
The hair also plays a part in the transformation. Juli wore it long, loose, and straight, with two small side braids lifted and curved to recreate the kitty’s ears.
Due to their shape, the braids seem to be held up by an internal flexible structure that keeps them elevated. The styling choice ties the haircut to the concept and avoids adding a headband or a carnival-like accessory.

Thus, the character is built from the hair itself and maintains a more elaborate yet playful appearance.
An idea for handling Halloween through the beauty look
Juli Poggio’s concept serves as inspiration for those who prefer to center the entire look on makeup. A neutral garment allows the face, the bow, and the braids to take center stage.
It also opens the possibility to adapt the idea: keep the character’s cute version or add the red details to push it toward a more terrifying code. The strength lies in blending simple, recognizable symbols with a creative intervention.
