Wanda Nara dazzled at the premiere of ¿Querés ser mi hijo?, the film that marks her feature-film debut. Amid the anticipation for the release, the businesswoman and host spoke about the challenge of becoming an actress, the preparation required for her character, and the experience of working on a story that surprised her from the very first moment.
In conversation with Puro Show, the El Trece program, Wanda defined the project as “a beautiful job she never would have imagined”. She also highlighted the story they chose for her debut: “A film whose story I loved. I could have debuted in cinema with a story that perhaps wouldn’t fully satisfy or resonate with me and the truth is that the story is spectacular,” she reflected.
Wanda Nara spoke about the challenge of portraying Lucía
In the movie, Wanda plays Lucía, a 40-year-old woman who discovers that her partner, with whom she has spent 15 years together, has been unfaithful. On top of that, she loses her job, which drives her back to her old bachelor apartment to start over. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets her new neighbor, a 23-year-old man.
Regarding the experience of stepping into this character, the businesswoman acknowledged that the role required her to explore new interpretive tools. “A character that lets me go through a lot of situations as an actress, and the truth is that I had to work on it a lot,” she confessed.
She also admitted that she had never envisioned reaching the big screen. “I never imagined acting, making a movie, or being here about to walk into a theater. But what I do know is that I enjoy doing things that push me beyond my comfort zone. It’s something that really attracts me, the challenge it demands,” she explained.

In that sense, Wanda highlighted her interest in taking on challenges that force her to move beyond what she knows. “I like to always seek out the hardest things. And with this, I had to prepare myself, to modulate my voice in another way,” she explained about the work she did to construct Lucía.
Wanda Nara revealed how many kilos she put on to play Lucía
A few days before the avant-premiere, Wanda had shared another detail about her preparation for the film: the physical transformation she underwent to bring her character to life.
The confession came through a Q&A she opened in her Instagram Stories. When one of her followers asked what had most impacted her about making the film, the businesswoman answered with a revelation about the process involved in the role.

“I gained 10 kilos to portray Lucía. I prepared a lot,” she wrote at the time along with a photo of herself outdoors, wearing a winter look and a headscarf.
Moreover, as she explained in a subsequent interview, during preproduction her acting coach suggested using Bridget Jones, the iconic British character, as a reference to shape Lucía’s aesthetic and emotional construction.
Facing that suggestion, Wanda said she could approach the physical transformation naturally and felt free during the shoot.
With this debut, the businesswoman adds a new chapter to her career and dares to explore a different professional facet. Enthusiastic about the premiere, she also stated clearly that the acting challenge allowed her to discover new possibilities and face situations she had never imagined.
