The health of Luis De Stefano, Iliana Calabró’s partner, has been a matter of concern for several months. At the beginning of August, it had been disclosed that the businessman remained intubated in the intensive care unit at the Sanatorio Los Arcos, due to a delicate clinical condition. Now, more than a month after that news, Iliana spoke again about her partner’s progress and explained how he is navigating this new stage of recovery.
De Stefano suffers from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), and his hospitalization arose from a pneumonia that worsened his respiratory condition and required mechanical assistance. During a recent episode of Infama, Marcela Tauro reported that the businessman was stable and remained hospitalized to undergo a rehabilitation process.
Asked during a live segment on the show, Calabró explained what his current health status is. “He’s delicate. I mean, he’s fine because the worst part has passed, but now, after these two months of hospitalization, rehabilitation has to be undertaken, and that’s the most tedious part,” she revealed about the new stage the businessman is going through.
“Although he is currently stable, he is in a stage that is rehabilitation and it takes time. It is slow,” she added.
The pneumonia that complicated his COPD condition
Later, the host recalled the episode that triggered De Stefano’s prolonged hospitalization and explained that the pneumonia was added to the respiratory disease he already had.
“He had a pneumonia that added to the preexisting COPD symptoms. And well, it hit him very hard. He was already in a poor baseline, so now he has to recover little by little,” she explained.

Recovery, Calabró noted, also involves going through a rehabilitation period that requires time and patience. In that sense, she described how her partner is coping with this stage after having remained hospitalized for two months.
Iliana Calabró spoke about Luis De Stefano’s smoking
Between laughter and concern, Iliana explained that one of the main difficulties the businessman faces is the anxiety to return to his daily life.
“What he lacks is patience, because he wants to go out. I understand, because it’s torture. If one could sign for everything a smoker has to go through when something like this happens, it’s terrible,” she explained.
She then acknowledged that quitting smoking had long been a challenge for De Stefano. “It was very hard for him to quit smoking,” she noted.
