Ana Paula Dutil spoke again about her love story with Emanuel Ortega and recalled how the bond that led them to form a family and share more than two decades of life began. In a recent interview with Pamela David for En Subida, the former model revealed details of their first meeting with the singer and admitted that the instant spark was undeniable.
Dutil met Emanuel while taking part in the shooting of the music video for “A escondidas”, one of the singer’s songs. At the time, she was in a relationship, but the encounter with Ortega changed her plans.
“I was in a relationship. I was selected for the video and I met him there. I was getting my makeup done and he appeared. When I saw him I fell in love,” Ana Paula recalled as she remembered that moment.
The former model also acknowledged that, in that first meeting, she could not have imagined all that would come later. “Now that I think about it, I never imagined anything in my life. Besides, I am six years older than him,” she recalled amid laughter.
The First Encounter Between Ana Paula Dutil and Emanuel Ortega
According to Dutil, after that first encounter, a rapprochement began that progressed rapidly. “She was even the one who found a way to obtain Emanuel’s phone number”.
The pretext had to do with her work and the press, but behind that request there was a personal interest. Over time, the bond took on another dimension and they began a relationship.
“Then we went on a trip together. From the first minute I think it was love at first sight,” the former model said.
That story began in the mid-1990s and shortly after it became a shared life project. Dutil and Ortega settled in Miami and formed a family with their children, Bautista and India.
Ana Paula’s older children, Teo and Noé Ranuschio, born from her relationship with former model Fernando Ranuschio, could not travel to the United States while they were young because their father prevented it.
“I was going to move to Miami and I spoke with their father, who gave me the OK to take the kids. They were 6 and 5 years old, I went first to do the move and when I came back to fetch them, he regretted it”, the former model said in the same interview.
“Today they tell me that it’s over for them, that they’ve accepted it, and it left me a big guilt,” she acknowledged. And she was even more emphatic when reflecting on that decision from the present: “It’s harsh but it’s real: I prioritized a man over them” she added.
A Story That Became a Family
As the years passed, the relationship between Dutil and Ortega transcended the love story that had begun with that encounter during the filming of a music video. The couple built a family and shared for years a life between Argentina and the United States.
The relationship eventually ended, but they managed to maintain a family bond for the sake of their children. In fact, in recent years Dutil has spoken on several occasions about the process they went through to reshape the relationship after the separation.
The recent interview with Pamela David allowed us to return to the beginning of that story, when neither of them could imagine all that would come after.
Today, with the passage of time and with their lives taking different paths, Ana Paula can look back and remember that first encounter with Emanuel from a different perspective. And there is a phrase that sums up how she lived that moment: “When I saw him I fell in love”.
