Ámbar de Benedictis’s Farewell Look for Piero: Beige Trench, Plaid Skirt, and Boots

9 October 2026

On Thursday, October 8, family members, friends, and various figures from the entertainment world gathered at Casa O’Higgins to bid farewell to Piero, who died at the age of 81. Among those in attendance was Ámbar de Benedictis, his granddaughter, with whom he shared a very special bond.

The young woman arrived at the wake visibly affected by the loss. With her head bowed and her gaze directed at the floor, she chose an urban, relaxed style, with comfortable pieces and a mix of textures that reflected a sober aesthetic for the occasion.

Ámbar opted for a layered ensemble, ideal for a rainy day. She wore a gray hoodie, over which she added a short beige trench coat, a classic piece that provided structure and a touch of elegance to the look.

Con la cabeza gacha y la mirada dirigida hacia el suelo, eligió un estilismo urbano y descontracturado, con prendas cómodas y una combinación de texturas que reflejó una estética sobria para la ocasión.

Underneath, she added a long black-and-white checkered skirt. The pattern gave personality to the outfit and introduced a visual detail that stood out against the neutral tones of the upper garments.

Llevó un buzo gris con capucha, sobre el que sumó un trench corto en tono beige, una prenda clásica que aportó estructura y un toque elegante al look.

Footwear also played a key role in the styling. The young woman chose black leather knee-high boots with a platform, which peeped out from beneath the skirt and lent a modern, urban edge. In this way, she combined comfort and style on an occasion clouded by the sorrow of saying goodbye.

El calzado también tuvo un papel importante en el estilismo.

Finally, she added a black bag with small golden details slung over her shoulder, adding practicality to the overall look.

The special bond between Piero and Ámbar de Benedictis

Ámbar’s presence at the wake once again underscored the close connection she shared with her grandfather. Music, which occupied a central place in the artist’s life, was one of the bridges that linked them and left family memories that today take on a special meaning.

In a 2018 interview, Piero spoke about his relationship with his granddaughters and recalled Ámbar, his eldest granddaughter, who was 15 at the time.

At that time, the young woman felt a special connection with Unfinished Symphony at Sea, one of the singer-songwriter’s best-known works. The album had emerged during a difficult period of his life and, over time, it became a fundamental piece of his musical career.

Piero had explained that the song giving the album its name was the only one he had written himself, while the other compositions belonged to Alejandro Mayol. Over the years, that piece also became a meeting point with his granddaughter.

One of the most meaningful memories occurred when Ámbar attended a French school and had to complete a project with a relative. Among the choices, which included a story, a poem, or a song, she chose music and invited her grandfather to participate.

The singer-songwriter agreed and attended the school accompanied by his son Juan and two of his granddaughters. The four of them ended up on stage, singing in front of the student community.

For Piero, that experience was much more than a school performance. It represented the opportunity to share with Ámbar one of the great passions of his life and to pass on part of his story through music.

Today, that memory takes on a special dimension. In the midst of grieving the death of his grandfather, Ámbar bids farewell to an important figure in her family history, with whom she shared a connection that transcended generations and found in art a way to endure.
