Mery del Cerro shared an emotional reflection on her social networks as a year passed since one of the most challenging moments of her life. The actress recalled how she endured the loss of a pregnancy, the diagnosis of an abdominal tumor, and the uncertainty she experienced during the postoperative period.
A few months earlier, Mery opened up about having lost a pregnancy and, only a few weeks later, needing to undergo surgery for an abdominal tumor. The actress had found out she was pregnant just days before traveling to Uruguay to film the series Margarita. However, the pregnancy did not come to fruition, and at that time she chose to share what happened only with her colleague Isabel Macedo.
Upon returning to Buenos Aires, she began to experience severe abdominal pains. An ultrasound revealed a seven-centimeter mass, and after a CT scan and an MRI, the studies determined that it was a highly vascularized and encapsulated tumor. Faced with this diagnosis, she was operated on the following day and the procedure was successful.
Mery del Cerro recalled the day a new chapter of her life began
One year after that episode, the actress shared a post on Instagram in which she expressed her emotion for having gone through that experience and reflected on how it changed her outlook on life.
“Sometimes life hits you with a blow like this. And today exactly marks 1 year since my rebirth 🥰 Something that, due to a belly ache, knocked me down in 3, 2, 1 🥹❤️🙌🏼”, she wrote.
In her message, she also remembered the moment she received the diagnosis and highlighted the essential role of a professional who accompanied her through the process. “Afterwards, finding out about a 7 cm tumor in the abdomen, and how I would have fared if I hadn’t crossed paths with my angel, @liladubra, at the perfect moment,” she expressed.
“Coinciding at the same time and in the same place wasn’t a coincidence, and then many more coincidences followed ❤️🙌🏼,” she added, with emotion and gratitude for the people who stood by her side.
The support of Meme Bouquet and the uncertainty after the operation
Mery also dedicated special words to Meme Bouquet, her partner since 2010, for having accompanied her through the most difficult moments. “Thank you, my love, for holding my hand and never letting go ❤️🥹,” she wrote.
In another part of her post, the actress recalled the emotional impact of the diagnosis and acknowledged that there are still certain questions she hasn’t found answers to.
“At that moment, something inside me stayed in a kind of pause. I didn’t understand why it was happening. For what… I still have some questions today. But there is also something that transformed me deeply. There is a before and an inevitable after…”, she reflected.
Recovery was also marked by waiting and uncertainty. According to her account, after the surgery she had to endure 40 days before knowing the final results.
“After the operation there were 40 days of uncertainty… waiting for a result. I didn’t know what could happen, but I was hopeful,” she recounted.
Ultimately, the results were positive. The actress also recalled the words of the professionals who treated her, who highlighted how distinctive her case was: “Yours is a case study; we’ll present it at conferences as a rare case… they had never seen something like this. Believe it or not, it had to happen to me for something, or perhaps for a lot of reasons 🙏❤️”.

With time, the experience also changed the way Mery chooses to live her day to day. In her post, she shared a reflection on the importance of savoring loved ones, valuing the small things, and daring to do what makes her happy.
“And today I woke up with the dawn and with a gratitude that is so special and different… 💫 How could I not thank life for all the beauty it has given me and still gives me. That’s why I try to live it as deeply as possible, with the intensity that defines me 🫠🤪😂, because after all we are here and we never know for how long 🍷❤️,” she expressed.
And she summarized that learning with a phrase that captures the spirit of her message: “Live life to the fullest, do what we love, and don’t leave anything to chance—so intensely as I like it 😂🥰❤️.”
To close, the actress thanked the team of professionals who intervened from the early studies through the operation and the recovery, including the surgeon and the clinic staff who made the facilities available.
In addition, she accompanied the message with a carousel of unpublished photos from that process. In the images she can be seen resting on a hospital gurney, resting in a medical gown, sharing moments with her partner, receiving a visit from her pet, and alongside the medical team and her children. She also included a photograph in which she poses with a small healing stone.
