For some time now, sneakers have ceased to be exclusive to the gym. Today they are central to urban looks, and those with an outdoor aesthetic are making a strong impact on trends thanks to their technical mark, their rugged silhouettes, and that perfect balance between functionality and design.
Inspired by the world of trekking and mountain sports, these sneakers have become a staple of street style and have shown that they can coexist with classic garments, elevating any outfit with a contemporary vibe.
What characterizes sneakers with an outdoor aesthetic
Their hallmark lies in the details. The combination of technical mesh, layered overlays, dynamic lines, and oversized soles creates a design that nods to footwear built for exploration, even though today it also conquers urban fashion.

The key is to understand that the outdoor aesthetic refers to the visual language of design and not necessarily to the use for which each model was created. Some sneakers maintain technical capabilities for different activities, while others take only that inspiration to integrate into everyday wear.
How to pair them with pieces you already have
One of the major advantages of this trend is its versatility. You don’t need to overhaul your entire wardrobe to incorporate it: simply add a good pair of sneakers.
With straight jeans and a shirt
It’s the simplest and most effective combination. Straight-cut jeans, a white or light blue shirt, and outdoor sneakers create a relaxed, current look with plenty of personality.

With dress pants and a basic tee
The mix between classic and sporty pieces remains one of street style’s favorite formulas. Dress pants gain a much more modern feel when paired with sneakers inspired by technical design.
With a midi dress or long skirt
Those seeking a more feminine look can opt for the contrast between a flowing dress or a long skirt and outdoor sneakers. The result is a comfortable, modern, and very on-trend outfit.

With shorts and a blazer
Ideal for warm days. Lightweight tailoring finds a perfect counterpoint in this type of footwear, achieving a relaxed, urban, and contemporary look.
Tip: if you choose sneakers with multiple colors, pick up one of those tones in another garment or accessory. That small detail helps the overall outfit look much more balanced.

What to look for when choosing a pair
Beyond the design, it’s worth paying attention to the fit. Ideally, the toes should have enough room to move and the foot should feel comfortable from the first wear.
It’s also important to differentiate whether the goal is to incorporate them into daily wear or if you are looking for them to perform a specific sports activity. In that case, it’s advisable to review the technical specifications and the recommended use by each brand before selecting a model.

XT-EVO: Salomon’s release that brings outdoor aesthetics into the urban universe
Among the season’s novelties appears XT-EVO, the new model from Salomon, a silhouette that takes as its starting point the legacy of the iconic XT-6 and reinterprets it with a more contemporary design language. According to the brand, it features a renewed upper with more defined proportions, layered overlays, and a large mesh that adds texture and depth to the design.

Its first version arrives in a combination of red, black and gray, a nod to one of the original colors of the XT-6 line. Additionally, according to Salomon’s information, the model preserves the technical platform of the XT franchise and incorporates the Agile Chassis™ system, designed to provide stability, cushioning, and control.
The XT-EVO will be available from October 12 in exclusive Salomon stores and also in its online store, while a pre-sale will begin on October 8 at Bolivia Universo.
When fashion also intersects with music
The influence of outdoor aesthetics has also reached collaborations between brands and artists. An example is ACS NEXXT: The Green Star by Feid, the new special edition developed by Salomon together with the Colombian singer and brand ambassador.

The model takes Feid’s visual identity as a starting point and translates it into footwear design through the distinctive Ferxxo green, iridescent details and a cow-print sole, plus a hand-drawn signature on the woven label. According to the brand, the silhouette retains the Agile Chassis™ system and the cage-like structure that characterizes the ACS family, blending its technical heritage with a language more closely tied to urban culture.

This edition will be available from October 10 in selected Salomon stores, in its online store and in Dionysos.
