Migue Granados and the Complex He Couldn’t Shake Off Despite His Body Transformation: “I Don’t Recognize Myself”

17 August 2026

Migue Granados spoke bluntly about one of the insecurities he has carried for years: discomfort with his own body. Although he recently underwent a significant physical transformation and lost more than 20 kilograms, the host acknowledged that he still struggles to appear shirtless, especially in public places like the beach.

The confession came during a relaxed chat with former rugby player Agustín Creevy, for his YouTube channel. Amid a conversation about training, diet, and the changes he experienced over the past year, Granados made clear that changing his body did not necessarily mean leaving behind the image he had built of himself.

I’m a self-conscious fat guy my whole life, even if I’m thin, I’m not going to be shirtless,” the host admitted. The line appeared when Creevy asked if he would dare to take off his shirt during a vacation in Punta Cana.

The complex that Migue Granados still hasn’t managed to shake off

Granados’s response was blunt: “I don’t feel like myself, bro.” And he quickly explained that he knows this is an insecurity that, from the outside, might seem unfounded.

It’s a petty insecurity, because nobody’s going to be looking at you,” he admitted.

Yet one thing is knowing it rationally and another completely is feeling comfortable with one’s own body. That’s why he described his usual behavior when going to the beach or a pool: he goes into the water shirtless, but as soon as he comes out he covers up again.

The host even recalled a moment he lived at Parque Norte, soon after arriving in Buenos Aires. He was in swimwear and shirtless when someone approached him to ask for a photo. The situation caught him completely off guard.

And I almost died, man,” he recalled with a laugh.

The anecdote shows just how much exposing his body can still make him uncomfortable, even after the physical change he underwent over the past year.

The topic also came up because Granados spoke about how he changed his habits and the transformation he has undergone since mid-2025.

According to him, he initially tried following a keto diet, but he did not obtain the results he expected. The turning point arrived when he began operating with a caloric deficit and added strength training several times a week.

To that, he added incline treadmill walks, although he clarified that his current goal is different. After focusing on reducing body fat, he now aims to gain muscle mass.

To drop fat, you need a caloric deficit—the treadmill merely helps you burn a little more calories,” he explained during the chat.

The host also revealed that he plans to intensify his training during the summer: “This summer I think I’m going to make a difference, because I’m going to train hard every day.”

“Even if I’m slim, I’m not going to walk around shirtless”

Beyond the visible changes, Granados offered a reflection that goes beyond weight. The phrase “even if I’m slim, I’m not going to walk around shirtless” reveals how an insecurity can persist even when what caused it, at least from an external perspective, is no longer present.

In his case, the host acknowledged that for much of his life he identified with the image of a fat and insecure man. Therefore, the process of physical transformation did not automatically mean feeling comfortable with his new appearance.

The talk also showed that losing weight and feeling secure about one’s own body are separate processes. Granados can acknowledge his physical change while still feeling modest in certain situations.

That contrast was precisely one of the most sincere moments of the conversation with Creevy: behind the outward transformation, there remains an discomfort that the host acknowledges and can discuss with humor, but that continues to be part of his relationship with his body.
