One thing I learned after many years of following runways and street style is that many of the trends we see in Europe eventually make their way into our closets a few months later. And this time there’s a garment that won me over from the very first moment: striped pants.
I’m not talking about the classic tailor-made trousers, but about those models with wide legs, lightweight fabrics, and colored vertical stripes that today are worn by stylists, fashion editors, and influencers in all the fashion capitals.
The best part is that they’re as comfortable as they are chic, with that carefree vibe that makes a look seem much more polished than it actually is.

Why Striped Pants Will Be a Hit This Spring?

There are several reasons I think this trend will also win over our hemisphere.
First, because they’re incredibly fresh. The fabrics are usually linen, cotton, or light blends, perfect for hot days.

Second, because vertical stripes visually slim the figure, elongating the legs and creating a much more elegant effect.
And, moreover, they perfectly embody that relaxed fashion that’s been gaining ground: comfortable, loose-fitting pieces that are easy to mix and match.

How I Plan to Wear Them This Season
What I like most is that they basically go with everything.

My favorite pairings would be:
- a basic white T-shirt and sneakers;
- a linen shirt, just barely unbuttoned;
- a knit top for the evening;
- an oversized blazer if I want a more sophisticated look;
- flat sandals during the day or platforms to further elongate the silhouette.
They’re one of those pieces that resolve an outfit in just a few minutes.

The Detail That Makes the Difference
If I had to choose a model, I’d bet on high-waisted with very wide legs. Besides being the cut most seen in Europe, it’s the one that best accommodates movement and delivers that relaxed effect that today’s trends are all about.

As for colors, we’ll see a lot of blue with white, pink, green, yellow, and even multicolor versions for those seeking a bolder look.

I’m convinced that in a few months we’ll start seeing them everywhere. And when that happens, you’ll know which one of the first pieces I recommended adding to your spring wardrobe.
