She returned to Buenos Aires without her suitcase, but with the sense of having lived an experience that, in her own words, “you carry in the soul”. This is how Pía Slapka summarized the spiritual journey she undertook to Medjugorje, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a destination of deep religious significance where she also reconnected with her siblings after many years.

The model shared on her social networks an extensive reflection, accompanied by a passage from the Gospel of Matthew, in which she gave voice to what this experience meant, both spiritually and in terms of family.

The emotional message from Pía Slapka after returning from Medjugorje
In her post, Pía shared that up to the last moment she didn’t know whether she would be able to make the trip, but she felt everything aligned to make it possible.

“Up to the last moment, not knowing if I could travel, the Virgin arranged everything so that I could reunite with my siblings after many years in this sacred place. I experienced days of much grace, I lived things that I carry in my soul,” she wrote.

She also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to experience that moment.
“Thank you God for this amazing gift,” she stated.
Upon returning to Argentina, she revealed that her luggage had been misplaced at some airport, although she clarified that this passed to a secondary plane compared to what the trip meant.

“I arrive in Buenos Aires without a suitcase, it was lost at some airport, but that is not the important thing. What fills the soul is not the material; what truly nourishes us is the word of the Lord,” she reflected.
After that message, she shared in full a passage from the Gospel according to Saint Matthew (6:25-34), focusing on trust in God and on letting go of material worries.

A journey with a deeply familial meaning
The trip also held special value because it brought the Slapka siblings back together.
Pía grew up in a large family with five siblings. In various interviews she said that faith was always present in their home and that one of the hardest moments for her was accepting the decision of her elder sister, Mariana Slapka, to devote her life to religion.

Mariana, a lawyer by training, entered religious life after a period of discernment and adopted the name Sister Maria de la Paz. The presenter acknowledged on several occasions that they were very close and that accepting that vocation meant going through a period of mourning, though over time she understood that it was the path that made her happy.

A special destination for the Slapka family
Medjugorje, the destination chosen for this trip, holds an important place in the family’s spiritual life. Moreover, one of Pía’s brothers has lived there for years.

In this context, the family reunion added an even deeper meaning to an experience that the model described as a true gift, one she wanted to share with her followers through a message infused with faith, gratitude, and the value of bonds.
