Winter Break 2026: The Astrópicos Arrive in Buenos Aires for the First Immersive Kids’ Musical

13 July 2026

The winter holidays are the perfect opportunity to discover new, family-friendly options. And for those seeking a different alternative to traditional children’s theatre, arrive in Buenos Aires with a show that blends music, dance, characters, immersive imagery and a sensory staging.

Los Astrópicos: Zetta y Lumo

The troupe of friendly puppets will land their craft on the stage of the CAI – Centro Audiovisual Inmersivo de Buenos Aires, located in the Chacarita neighborhood, to present a musical experience where children won’t be mere spectators: 360° screens, immersive sound and movement will immerse them completely in an intergalactic journey.

Los Astrópicos: Blip

The band of cheerful puppets will land on the stage of the CAI, continuing their interstellar adventure and presenting a show specially designed for the winter holidays.

The premiere will be on Thursday, July 16 at 6:30 PM, while the winter holiday performances will run from July 22 to August 2, from Wednesday to Sunday, at 5:00 PM.

Who Are The Astrópicos

The Astrópicos are a musical band formed by Zetta, Pixie, Lumo, Electra and their pet Blip, five fluffy characters who live on Pelurno, a planet full of colors, sounds and emotions.

Los Astrópicos: Pixie

Each member has their own personality and represents a different musical universe. Throughout the show, genres such as pop, rock, rap, electronic music and Latin rhythms come together.

Los Astrópicos: Electra

After performing before a crowd of families on the children’s stage at Lollapalooza, the characters arrive on the porteño schedule with a show specially designed for the winter holidays.

What the Show Is About

The story begins when The Astrópicos have a falling-out with Silence, the villain who shares the planet Pelurno with them. The conflict forces the band to board their Astrocity spaceship and begin a quest for a new home.

Los Astrópicos

During that journey they will discover astonishing planets, overcome various challenges and must decide whether they can reach an agreement with Silence or if they will have to abandon their home forever.

The adventure unfolds amid songs, choreographies, colors and visual settings that change constantly. The aim is for both kids and adults to feel part of the narrative and accompany the protagonists at each stage of the journey.

An Immersive Experience for Kids and Grown-Ups

One of the features that sets the show apart is its technological setup. CAI is a pioneering space for immersive experiences and features 360° screens and surround sound, resources that transform the stage into different planets and universes.

Music, imagery and the characters’ movements come together to stimulate the senses and create an experience that goes beyond a conventional theatrical performance.

The concept invites audiences to imagine, dance and sing, but also to recognize different emotions. Through the songs, topics related to early childhood are explored, such as empathy, teamwork, diversity, creativity, and the importance of expressing one’s own voice.

Daily emotions such as fear, frustration, joy and enthusiasm also appear, as well as current issues like the relationship between kids and screens.

Why It Could Be a Great Plan for These Winter Holidays

The Astrópicos offer an alternative that blends entertainment, music and learning without losing the playful atmosphere. The variety of songs and characters helps capture the attention of the youngest, while the immersive technology makes the outing appealing to the whole family.

The duration of the musical journey, the changes of scenery and the constant audience participation make the experience dynamic and different.

Moreover, its location in the City of Buenos Aires makes it an accessible option to add to the winter holidays schedule along with other outings in Chacarita, Colegiales and Palermo.
