Photos from Roxy Vázquez’s Exotic Trip to India

22 October 2026

After 30 hours of flight, Roxy Vázquez arrived in New Delhi with a special mission: to participate in the international presentation of the Pirelli Calendar 2027. From there, she began chronicling on Instagram the contrasts, encounters, and places that marked her first hours in the Indian capital.

“Team ready for the task. I’ll start telling you what I came for,” she wrote as she shared one of the early images from the journey. Between historic monuments, tuk tuk rides, and spontaneous scenes, the journalist turned her stories into a small travel log.

Roxy Vázquez toured New Delhi by tuk tuk

One of the experiences that occupied the most space in her posts was the ride through the streets of Delhi in a tuk tuk. The journalist showcased both the iconic green and yellow vehicles and a colorful electric version packed with passengers.

“Locals say that to travel by tuk tuk you need three things: good brakes, a loud horn, and luck,” she wrote with humor from inside one of them.

The images captured part of the city’s daily movement: traffic, intense colors, and that mix of vertigo and curiosity that usually accompanies the first explorations of a new destination.

Roxy Vázquez’s visit to Humayun’s Tomb

Among the cultural stops of her trip was Humayun’s Tomb, one of the most visited historic sites in New Delhi. Roxy posed in front of the structure and shared various details of its architecture, marked by large arches, domes, and the contrast between the reddish stone and the white ornaments.

The journalist also noted that the mausoleum was built between 1565 and 1570 by order of Empress Bega Begum. In one of the photos she appears wearing a long light-blue dress, a hat, and white sneakers, a comfortable and breezy outfit for touring the complex during the day.

There, one of those unexpected encounters that make a trip memorable also occurred. Roxy met a young woman wearing the Argentina national team shirt and recorded the moment with a word that explained it all: “Messi.”

The special purpose of her trip to India

The journalist was invited to cover the presentation of the Pirelli Calendar 2027, internationally known as The Cal. The project offers a view of India built from different perspectives and brings together the work of Norwegian photographer Sølve Sundsbø and Indian photographer Avani Rai.

This edition, produced in India and featuring Indian women or women of Indian origin, explores the crossing between past and present, tradition and modernity. Among its figures are Freida Pinto, Padma Lakshmi, Anoushka Shankar, Rupi Kaur, and Aditi Rao Hydari.

In the lead-up to the event, Roxy showed the reception prepared at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi, where two dancers in traditional attire welcomed the guests. “Today is the calendar’s presentation event,” she announced from the venue.

The first postcards of a different experience

The journey was only beginning, but her posts already gathered many of New Delhi’s contrasts: centuries-old buildings, bustling streets, popular means of transport, and the elegance of the hotel chosen for the presentation.
