Paula Chaves has once again shared a glimpse into a daily aspect of her life with her followers, and surprised them by revealing that she will undergo a surgical procedure. A few days after returning to the country following a family vacation at Disney, the model resumed her activities and explained how the news of the operation awakened one of her greatest fears.
The presenter must undergo surgery on one of her hands and the procedure requires anesthesia. However, there is one detail that causes her great concern: Paula has an intense phobia related to the possibility of being anesthetized and not waking up.
For that reason, she decided to reach out beforehand to the anesthesiologist. The doctor himself had provided her with the contact so she could speak with the specialist and raise her concerns. Through her social media, she shared a screenshot of the conversation and explained the situation.
“In a new chapter of my phobias: I have to have surgery on my hand and I asked for the anesthesiologist’s phone number,” she wrote to introduce the topic.

In the exchange, Paula greeted the professional and asked if he was aware of her fear: getting trapped in anesthesia without the possibility of waking up. The doctor replied that his colleague had already mentioned that concern to him and invited her to share all her doubts so as to reassure her.
Paula Chaves’ Request Before Her Operation
Far from staying with that first conversation, the model also decided to write to the surgeon who will be in charge of the intervention. With humor, she shared that she had pressed the matter again and showed the message she sent. “Now I went after the doctor, I have no limits,” she commented alongside the screenshots.
In the chat, Paula was direct with her request and proposed the possibility of carrying out the procedure with local anesthesia. “Give me local anesthesia, I beg you. I will keep postponing it because of my panic otherwise,” she wrote.

The professional’s response was reassuring, and he assured her that the procedure would not be painful and that there would be no issues with her request.
Moreover, the model drew on a personal comparison to express that she hoped to undergo the surgery without major difficulties. “I gave birth without anesthesia, this can’t be worse,” she wrote, closing the exchange with humor.
Thus, Paula once again openly displayed one of her phobias and the way she seeks to manage it before a situation that causes her anxiety. While preparing for the surgery on her hand, she decided to speak openly with the professionals who will treat her to learn about the available alternatives and feel more at ease.
