Moria Casán turned 80 and decided to greet a new decade in her own way: not with a large public celebration, but surrounded by the people nearest to her. The diva chose her home in Parque Leloir as the setting for an intimate night that included sushi, gifts, personalized cakes bearing some of her most famous phrases, and, of course, plenty of humor.
Among the guests were Sofía Gala, the honoree’s daughter, her grandchildren Helena and Dante, her friend Zeta, and other members of her inner circle. Moria shared some moments of the celebration with her followers on social media.
The celebration occurred, moreover, at a special moment for the diva: a few days earlier Netflix had premiered Moria, the biographical-fiction series that traces various moments of her life.
The production features Sofía Gala playing her mother during a period of her life, while Griselda Siciliani and Cecilia Roth portray Moria in other periods. Helena Tuñón, the diva’s granddaughter, also participates, portraying her during adolescence.
Why Moria chose an intimate celebration for her 80th
The reduced celebration wasn’t a surprise. Before her birthday, Moria had said that she initially planned to organize a grand party to celebrate her 80th, but she ultimately decided to rule it out.

“I can’t imagine a party at 80. I ruled it out. I was going to do it, but nothing beats going on a trip,” she had explained. The diva also had said she did not enjoy taking on the role of hostess in front of hundreds of people.
“In a party you have to be the host and today I can’t be the host for a thousand or two thousand people. It exhausts me and I don’t enjoy it. I don’t love parties or celebrations with crowds; I like it to be for me,” she had said.

Finally, before the trip she had planned, there was a celebration: it took place indoors and with her closest circle.
Sushi and Two Cakes Very Much in Moria’s Style
For dinner, the diva chose sushi. In one of the videos she shared, you can see her presenting a large boat filled with different pieces.
“Well, folks, here we are starting with friends and family. Beginning… ending my birthday with a fabulous delivery,” she commented while showing the menu.
But the main stars of the celebration were the themed cakes.
One of them was clear, with dark details and several phrases that form part of Moria’s unique universe. Among the inscriptions could be read “Who are they?”, “I am the obelisk with tits” and “The décor stays silent”.
The second cake had a bubblegum pink base and the name “Moria” written in silver letters.

The moment to blow out the candles also had its twist. When they began singing the traditional Happy Birthday, the diva reacted with humor: “I’m tired of people singing Happy Birthday and the Happy Birthday.”
That was when Sofía Gala made a special request: that she re-portray Rita Turdero, one of her most memorable characters.

Moria agreed immediately and, looking at the camera, stated: “I am Rita Turdero, the panther from Mataderos”. The remark elicited an ovation from the guests.
The Emotional Moment with Sofía Gala
Among the celebration footage, there was also a more intimate moment captured between mother and daughter.
“Thank you, my love,” you can hear Moria say. “You know I love you very much, right?” Sofía Gala replied.
The bond between the two also plays a central role in Moria, the series recently released on Netflix. There, the actress portrays her mother during one of the life stages.
Moria’s Stunning Look for 80
To celebrate 80, Moria opted for a look entirely true to her style. She wore a long black dress, tight and covered in sparkles, with long semi-sheer sleeves and a deep V-neckline finished with lace.

She completed the styling with long and shiny earrings, nails long in a light shade, and her signature dark, straight hair with a blunt fringe.
The makeup also bore its mark: she wore eyes heavily lined in black and lashes defined, turning the gaze into the centerpiece of the beauty look.
A Celebration with Moria’s Signature
The house in Parque Leloir also served as part of the staging. In the videos shared by the diva, one could observe walls with animal prints, vibrant artworks, areas of the ceiling modified, and violet and blue lights.
Among flowers, gifts, and personal objects, there were also luxury-brand bags from Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana.

The night ended with one of those phrases that seem tailor-made for Moria. In front of her cakes and surrounded by loved ones, the diva found a way to redefine her 80 years:
“We cut the 8 and put infinity. I am infinite… long live me.”
Thus, between humor, family, friends and an intimate celebration, Moria Casán welcomed her 80th birthday without losing what made her one of the great divas of Argentine popular culture: her ability to turn every moment into a true spectacle.
