María Becerra Talks About Her Conflict with Emilia Mernes and Her Strong Bond with Tini Stoessel

8 July 2026

María Becerra spoke again about the differences she maintains with some colleagues in the Argentine music scene. During an interview with Los 40 in Spain, the singer reflected on the competition within the industry, recalled how her friendship with Tini Stoessel began, and hinted that some of her remarks were connected to the dispute that had surfaced months earlier with Emilia Mernes.

María Becerra Emphasized the Friendship She Shares with Tini Stoessel

One of the interview’s standout moments came when she recalled recording “High Remix”, the collaboration she released with Tini Stoessel and Lola Índigo in 2020. She said that experience was key to forging a friendship that endures to this day.

They are people who want to help each other. They’re not bothered by someone else’s shine, they don’t feel inferior because one has more followers than the other. People who don’t even cross that line in their heads, and that speaks volumes about a person in such a competitive environment,” she expressed.

Without naming names, the artist left hinting that she didn’t always find that attitude in other members of the industry.

Later, she delved into the bond she maintains with Tini and explained why she feels the need to protect her. “Sometimes I’m bothered by how cruel the world can be to her, by the things people say that aren’t true. I don’t want to say too much, but it infuriates me when they take everything to a place that isn’t right,” she stated.

Additionally, she added: “She is one of the best people I’ve met in my life. She’s a real, straight-talking girl who conducts herself with morality in her life.”

For María, Tini’s sensitivity is one of the traits she admires most in her personality. “I don’t want to say she’s fragile, but she’s a very sensitive person. I feel the urge to protect her. I have a very strong temperament, I’m very fierce, and I’m going to defend her,” she asserted.

What She Said About Divisions Within the Music Industry

Asked whether she believes the Argentine music scene is divided, María answered plainly. “Yes,” she said. First, she explained that there are natural differences between the various musical genres, although she also noted that many tensions stem from personal issues.

It’s an environment where ego plays a large role, where there is a lot of envy. There’s a lot of ‘I wore this dress first’ rhetoric. The level of madness we’ve reached… And the audience wants to stoke the flame,” she reflected.

She also maintained that many versions circulating on social networks do not reflect reality. “There are some versions going around that are a fantasy world,” she stated.

The Differences She Suggested With Emilia Mernes

Although she avoided naming Emilia Mernes directly, María acknowledged that she has differences with some people in the industry. “There are certain people with whom we are divided. We have different ways of thinking and approaching life. I don’t question or gamble with certain things,” she explained.

The singer asserted that, when she doesn’t share someone’s way of acting, she prefers to talk to them directly. “I’m one way. If I don’t share someone’s ways of being, I don’t buy it and that’s that. And with people I don’t buy into, I tell them to their face,” she stated.

She then added: “With you I don’t buy into it. I don’t like how you act, how you conduct yourself, or what you did to a certain person. And for that person, I stand by them.”

Although she never named Emilia during the interview, her remarks once again fueled speculation about the distance that had surfaced months earlier between the two artists.

With a direct stance, María Becerra made it clear that she prioritizes relationships built on respect, empathy, and loyalty—values that, she said, she found in her friendship with Tini Stoessel.
