The controversy surrounding China Suárez and Mauro Icardi over a road-safety video took a new turn. This time, the public critic who spoke out against the actress was the Civil Association Madres del Dolor, which issued a statement after Suárez posted a second video in a mocking tone, this time with her son Amancio.
The initial video had generated strong backlash because the Chinese star appeared with half of her body out of the window of a moving car, not wearing the seat belt properly, while Mauro Icardi was driving.
The incident led to the preventive suspension of the footballer’s license by the Buenos Aires Ministry of Transportation.
Far from putting the controversy behind them, the actress published another video. “Like this better?”, she wrote, recreating the scene in her son Amancio’s toy electric car, with him at the wheel.
It was this second piece of content that sparked the reaction from Madres del Dolor. The organization argued that, instead of acknowledging the risk inherent in the conduct that had sparked the first controversy, the couple responded with new material that treated the episode with humor.

Viviam Perrone, founder of the NGO Madres del Dolor and mother of Kevin Sedano, who died at 14 after being struck by a car in 2002, explained on DDM why they decided to speak out.
“Cada vez que ocurre algo así hablamos. Lo hicimos con Chano, con Santiago Maratea, hasta con Santilli”, she recounted, recalling other cases in which the association reached out to public figures after observing behaviors related to road safety.
However, Perrone acknowledged that the second video by China Suárez was what ultimately triggered their response: “When we saw this second video, I honestly asked why. Why don’t they understand at first?”
For Perrone, the discussion isn’t about whether Icardi held an Argentine or Italian license nor about whether the episode occurred inside or outside a private neighborhood.
“We don’t care about the license issue, whether it’s Argentine or Italian. Nor whether it happened inside or outside a gated neighborhood. What matters to us is that with that conduct you can take a life,” she asserted.

One of Perrone’s main points was that China had used Amancio to film the second video.
The leader said she would be willing to speak personally with the actress to explain her concern. “First, so that she understands it. She, as a mother, used her son to continue with this second mockery,” she stated.
In that sense, she emphasized that both Suárez and Icardi have immense visibility and could use it to convey prevention messages to their followers.
