Lali Stuns at Billboard Awards 2026 in a 7-kilogram Dress Crafted from 130 Meters of Chains

24 October 2026

Lali Espósito once again demonstrated that fashion is a fundamental part of her artistic identity. To attend the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards, held in Miami, the singer chose an Argentine design that elevated the concept of a jewel dress to another level.

Far from traditional red-carpet proposals, she opted for a minidress made entirely from metal chains, offering a sensual aesthetic, a rock spirit, and a generous dose of shine.

The design belongs to Gabriella Capucci, but behind the striking result there was meticulous craftsmanship carried out by Geraldine, who dedicated 38 hours to constructing the piece, chain by chain.

A design that drew attention not only for its originality but also for the numbers behind its construction process.

Lali’s dress at Billboard 2026: a creation of 130 meters of chains

Lali’s look was a true style statement. It was a loose-silhouette minidress with a rounded neckline and thin straps, crafted from chains of varying thickness and lengths in gold and silver tones.

The metal combination generated a striking visual effect, while the dangling links formed fringes that accompanied each movement of the singer.

The aesthetic recalls the glam rock universe, where metallic materials, sparkling details, and a defiant attitude take center stage.

But what was truly remarkable was behind its making. To craft the dress, 130 meters of chains of 25 different types were used, a selection that allowed mixing textures, sizes, and finishes.

The result was a piece that sits halfway between jewelry and clothing, where the chains cease to be an accessory and become the very structure of the dress.

38 hours of work, blisters on the fingers, and 7 kilos of weight: the behind-the-scenes of the design

The construction was handled by Geraldine, who handcrafted the creation for Gabriella Capucci.

The numbers speak for themselves: to craft the dress, 130 meters of chains from 25 different types were used, assembled manually over 38 hours of work. Geraldine completed the entire piece alone, in a process so meticulous and demanding that it ended with blisters on her fingers. The result was a stunning 7-kilogram jewel-dress, a true craftwork that blends creativity, dedication, and Argentine design.

Hours of work were complemented by blisters on the fingers, a testament to the physical effort required to manipulate and assemble the chains to shape the garment.

Each link was part of a handcrafted process that transformed materials typically used for accessories into a high-impact dress.

And there is one detail that is especially surprising: the finished design weighs seven kilos, a figure uncommon for a mini dress.

Thus, Lali completed her glam rock-inspired look

To accompany this creation, Lali chose transparent sandals with silver platforms and tall heels, a choice that added height without competing with the dress’s star power.

She also added Swarovski jewelry, including long sparkling earrings and rings that reinforced the metallic aesthetic.

In some photographs she completed the styling with small sunglasses featuring dark crystals and a shiny frame, an accessory that highlighted the edgy rock vibe of her look.

Loose hair and warm-toned makeup balanced a look where all the focus was on the handcrafted creation.

The jewel dress, a trend that unites fashion and craftsmanship

Lali’s choice also reflects an intriguing direction in party fashion: garments that resemble jewelry and accessories that transform into wearables.

Chains, metallic appliqués, fringes, and hand-woven interlacings allow for pieces that move away from conventional genres and explore new ways of dressing the body.

In this case, the design did not require embroidery of sequins or crystals applied to fabric to generate shine. The effect was achieved through the combination of chains and their movement.

Gabriella Capucci’s proposal also demonstrates the value of Argentine artisanal work on international stages.

With 130 meters of chains, seven kilograms of weight, and 38 hours of work, Lali’s dress was much more than a red-carpet look: it was an artisanal creation that turned fashion into spectacle.
