The death of Presley Gerber, which occurred last Sunday, September 20, shocked the worlds of modeling and fashion. Within hours of his mother, the legendary supermodel Cindy Crawford, posting a painful tribute in memory of her son, this time it was Kaia Gerber, the 27-year-old’s sister, who spoke about the tragic loss with an extensive and heartfelt message.
The 25-year-old actress shared on her official account a carousel of images with an emotional note written by herself, accompanied by endearing snapshots of both during their childhood.
“Prez: I have no words. And perhaps the small mercy is that we actually never need them. Words fail, subtract, summarize and always lack truth. How naive I was to believe that language could transcend pain,” began expressing at the start of her message, underscoring the difficulty of processing the tragedy.

A farewell full of love, nostalgia, and memories
“You know how much I loved being your sister. It has always been, and will forever be, my favorite thing about me. I came into this world clinging to you with all my strength. I had more love for you than I knew how to handle. And now that you have nowhere obvious to go, I am sure it will swallow me whole. You believed, you always believed, in people. You didn’t face cruelty with anger, but with confusion. And curiosity,” she expressed in another fragment.
The model recalled key moments from her childhood shared with Presley: “You were my ultimate teacher while you were here, and now I wonder what I could learn in your absence. I keep thinking about how, when we were kids, I was afraid to get my ears pierced, so you went first. You always went first. But when I held the hoop they removed from your body, all I could think was: that belongs to you. I truly wish you hadn’t gone first this time.”
In another paragraph of her letter, Kaia made clear the indelible mark her brother left on her life: “To say loving you was the easiest thing in the world would imply it required some effort. I was born loving you. I will die loving you. There was never anything more.”

The challenge of learning to live with the absence
“I am learning to love you when I cannot see you. To tell you something without lifting the phone to call you. To be your sister in a world I cannot reach you. I still don’t know how to do that. You stood us up for our date. I forgive you,” she wrote later.
“Save me a place in the meantime. Because, Presley, even knowing how it ends, I would choose it all again. Every second. I would knowingly walk into this pain if it meant that on the other side of it I would become your sister,” the young actress continued on how she is trying to cope with the grieving process.

“My best friend, my great protector, with whom I have laughed the most and the only true love of my life: you lit all my candles and you took away all my monsters,” she concluded with deep emotion.

The post also featured videos showing them dancing as children while he taught her dance steps and carrying her in his arms, as well as beach images of them looking out at the sea in complete harmony. In response to the emotional letter, colleagues and loved ones filled the post with supportive messages to accompany the family during this difficult time.
