The Maipo Theater adds a new offering to its lineup with the premiere of “Cada Dos… una comedia romántica”, a play that promises to move audiences, evoke laughter, and awaken nostalgia in those who have ever wondered whether a great friendship can become a love story.
The comedy will arrive at the emblematic Esmeralda Street stage on Thursday, October 15 at 8:00 p.m. and will run every Thursday in October and November.
A story about love, growth, and bonds
Created and directed by Pico Giménez Zapiola, the play originated from an original idea of the director and developed through a work in progress process. The result is a script written by Trinidad Grehan Podestá and Joaquín Mazzoleni, who also star in this story.

The plot follows Oli and Mati, two friends who meet at 13 and, over time, build a bond shaped by humor, tenderness, and the challenges of growing up. As they share different life stages, both will try to discover whether that lifelong friendship can transform into something more.
With a fresh, generational perspective, Cada Dos invites both young people and adults to identify with those stories that leave a mark and pays homage to the romantic comedies that have marked different generations.

Carla Calabrese bets on new talents
The premiere is framed within the celebrations of The Stage Company’s 20th anniversary, the production company founded by Carla Calabrese, the current director of Teatro Maipo.
Also renowned for producing the theatrical hit The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Calabrese again bets on emerging talent and opens the doors of the historic theater to two young artists such as Trinidad Grehan Podestá and Joaquín Mazzoleni, accompanied by the experience of Pico Giménez Zapiola.

The production is a collaborative effort by Pico Giménez Zapiola, Trinidad Grehan Podestá, and Joaquín Mazzoleni.
