More than a month ago, Caro Trippar stirred social media by revealing that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, the content creator has received numerous expressions of affection and solidarity from her followers, support she has gratefully acknowledged on several occasions.
Since she made public her diagnosis, Caro decided to share with her community various aspects of this process. A few weeks ago, she even launched on her YouTube channel the series Cancer Fridays, in which she records her medical appointments, tests, questions, and the emotions she has been going through since receiving the news.
In the fifth episode, the influencer documented various situations she experienced in mid-July, before she publicly shared her diagnosis. Among them, she explained that her cancer is at stage 4 and has metastasized. However, she also shared news that excited her deeply and is related to the possibility of progressing with a more intensive treatment.
Caro Trippar said she might undergo chemotherapy
“I still have metastasis; I’m still at stage 4, which is the most advanced,” Caro explained during the episode.
The content creator explained that, according to what her medical team told her, even though the diagnosis was made at an advanced stage, having detected it at that moment was preferable to discovering it later when the disease could be in an even more complex situation.
In that context, Caro said she received information that, far from distressing her, moved her deeply.
“Basically, they told me that maybe later I might end up getting chemotherapy. I’ve never been so happy when I heard the word chemotherapy, you know?,” she confessed tearfully.
The influencer explained that, until that moment, the possibility of carrying out certain treatments hadn’t even been considered in the same way. According to her account, this was due to the characteristics of her disease and the presence of cancer cells in the bones.
“Maybe they’ll end up removing the breast, which is mastectomy, and I think—damn—I’ve never been so happy, because they didn’t want to perform either chemotherapy nor mastectomy nor radiation on me, because since there’s no cure and the cancer cells are in the bone, they can’t take them out of there, they can’t remove the cells… like, what’s the point of making me go through that if I wouldn’t achieve the results expected with chemotherapy, which are basically curative,” she explained.
Caro also spoke about one of chemotherapy’s most well-known side effects and made clear that, for her, the possibility of undergoing it would not be an obstacle.
Moved by the possibility that her treatment could include chemotherapy, Caro assured that she is ready to face whatever consequences it may entail if that means moving forward in her goal of taking care of her health.
“I don’t mind going bald if they tell me yes… That my hair falls out, I literally don’t care. I want to cure myself, I’m doing everything to be as healthy as possible,” she said.
Through Cancer Fridays, the influencer continues to show different moments of her process and to put into words her fears, doubts, expectations, and emotions. Her narrations aim to make visible her personal experience with the disease and to share with her community how she navigates each stage of her treatment.
