Fashion is once again taking a central place on the Buenos Aires’ creative and productive agenda. This August 20 marked the launch of the third edition of Buenos Aires Is Fashionable, the public-private platform driven by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires to strengthen the fashion industry and the local textile sector.

The initiative will take place between August 22 and September 17 and will unfold more than 70 proposals at various locations around the city, with activities that will bring together designers, brands, entrepreneurs, SMEs, businesspeople, universities, sectoral chambers and industry leaders.
The launch was attended by Hernán Lombardi, Minister of Economic Development of the City of Buenos Aires; Nahuel Celerier, Undersecretary of Productive Policies; and Sabrina Slauscius, Director General of Creative Industries, as well as representatives from different sectors linked to fashion.

Buenos Aires Is Fashionable 2026: Design, Production, and New Opportunities
The third edition aims to valorize not only the creative side of fashion but also its weight as an economic and productive activity, generating employment and new opportunities.
“From the City Government we accompany and promote the fashion industry so that those who produce and undertake can develop their talent, creativity and innovation, connect with new markets and project their work to the world,” said Hernán Lombardi during the presentation.

And he added: “Buenos Aires Is Fashionable highlights that entire supply chain and demonstrates that strengthening fashion also strengthens economic activity, employment, and the productive and creative identity of our city.”
Through an agenda that integrates different industry actors, the platform also aims to connect the sector, generate new commercial opportunities and project the city’s creative identity both domestically and abroad.

Over 70 Activities to Experience Fashion in Buenos Aires
For almost a month, the program will combine fashion shows, commercial activations, fashion tours, and special activities.
One of the main focuses will be the Fashion Tours, five guided circuits planned for August 22 and 29, and September 3, 5 and 17.

The proposal will allow visitors to discover shops, ateliers and showrooms of designers located in Villa Crespo, Palermo Soho, Chacarita and Once, with the guidance of industry leaders.
The idea is to bring the public closer to those spaces where fashion is produced, designed and sold in the City, also showing the network behind each brand and project.
Villa Crespo to Host a Major Outlet Circuit
On Saturday, August 29, Villa Crespo will be the centerpiece of the Outlet Circuit, an open-to-the-public proposal whose epicenter will be the Aguirre and Gurruchaga area.

Approximately 80 stores will participate, offering special discounts during the day.
The initiative aims to boost one of Buenos Aires’ most recognized fashion shopping circuits and to create an experience that blends shopping, fashion and social gathering.
Additionally, industry leaders and influencers will accompany the tour to bring the initiative to new audiences.
Fashion Revelations 2026: A Showcase for New Talent
Another highlight will arrive on Monday, September 7 at the Centro Cultural Recoleta, with a new edition of Fashion Revelations 2026.
There, the contest winners will have the opportunity to present their collections on a professional runway, an initiative aimed at boosting the work of emerging designers and giving them greater visibility within the industry.

The initiative especially focuses on talents who are just beginning to build their identity and seek to take a new step in their professional development.
Designers Returns to Promote Designer Fashion
Also on September 7, a new edition of Designers will begin, running until September 11.
The platform will be devoted to designer fashion and will bring together prominent creators and independent brands.
The objective will be to continue showcasing local talent and to strengthen Buenos Aires’ position as one of the regional references in design and designer fashion.
Feliz Palermo to Close Buenos Aires Is Fashionable 2026
The grand closing will take place on Thursday, September 17 with Feliz Palermo, an event open to the public that will be held in Palermo Soho.
Brands, designers and neighborhood shops will be part of a day aimed at boosting one of the city’s main commercial and creative hubs.
The event seeks to encourage foot traffic, strengthen collaboration among the neighborhood’s various players, and generate new experiences around design and consumption.
With its third edition, Buenos Aires Is Fashionable aims to consolidate itself as a platform capable of bringing together creativity and production, but also of generating connections and concrete opportunities for designers, brands, entrepreneurs and SMEs.
For nearly a month, Buenos Aires once again becomes a grand showcase to discover the talent, identity and diversity of local fashion.
