During the first days of August, Rosalía transformed Movistar Arena into the stage of an artistic experience that went far beyond music. With her Lux tour, the Spanish singer presented in Argentina a universe infused with experimentation, spirituality, theatricality, and a strong visual identity.
After several performances filled with emotion, staging, and carefully thought-out costumes, the moment to bid Buenos Aires farewell arrived. And on that final exit from the city, the artist left behind another image that quickly drew attention.
Rosalía opened the roof of her car to greet her followers and, in the midst of the emotion of the last encounter, wore a pastel sky-blue T-shirt from an Argentine brand. The garment, titled “Me guía una estrella”, bore an imprint of a Pegasus surrounded by stars and a moon.
Behind that design are Tatiana and Malena, the sisters who founded Yedra more than six years ago. Their brand emerged with the aim of blending clothing with aspects of literature, music, and Argentine popular culture through garments that function as small pieces of a visual narrative.
Little did they imagine that one of their creations would accompany Rosalía at such a symbolic moment of her journey through the country. In an interview with Para Ti, the founders shared behind the scenes of what would become an unforgettable achievement for them.
When a garment meets its muse
The contact began in a way as simple as it was unexpected. The creators of the brand decided to reach out to the singer’s stylist to offer a gift. The response came and opened the door to an opportunity that neither of them had anticipated.
How did the contact come about for the T-shirt they designed to reach Rosalía?
We reached out to her stylist saying that we wanted to give her a gift and, unable to believe it, she responded very warmly saying yes. They chose the T-shirts they preferred.
What did they feel when they saw her wearing their design as she bid farewell to Argentina?
It was a very special moment. Our mother, who lives in Río Negro, happened to be visiting us, and it moved us deeply. Seeing her wear it meant a lot to us because we admire her, but that she wore it on her last day in the city to say goodbye was beautiful.
A Pegasus, two stars, and the preexisting inspiration in a Rosalía song
The story behind “Me guía una estrella” also has an unexpected connection to Rosalía herself. To create it, Tatiana and Malena worked for a month with oil paints and drawings until they found an image that could convey, at once, something ethereal and powerful.
What was the process of creating the garment?
T-shirts are the brand’s strong suit. For this launch we wanted to create an artisanal print based on oil paintings and drawings. We aimed for something dreamlike and ethereal, yet conveying strength at the same time.
We spent a month painting and drawing, and after digitizing the sheets, we finished the design.
How did the idea to name it “Me guía una estrella” come about?
The print features a Pegasus, which is a winged horse from Greek mythology that is said to be born from the severed head of Medusa; and it is also the name of a constellation that bears its name, because its stars, when joined, form the silhouette of a horse.
The Pegasus on our T-shirt has two stars above it. And somehow, here, even before all this happened, Rosalía was already present: she has a song called A palé (2019), one of our favorites, which says: “Since the day I was born I carry the star I wear, I owe nothing to anyone, it only protects me.”
We liked the idea of thinking that everyone is guided and protected by something—their star—a force that accompanies you on the path of desire.
When fashion becomes part of the artwork
For the sisters, Rosalía choosing a creation from their brand holds meaning that goes beyond simply dressing an international artist. They understand that, within the Lux universe and even in the artist’s own authenticity, clothing also forms part of the artistic language.
What does it mean that an Argentine design forms part of Rosalía’s visual narrative?
It means a lot because we truly believe that her styling is another extension of her project. In other words, her image accompanies the album and the concepts it explores.
That among many options she chose our brand fills us with personal pride, and it also elevates design and the Argentine industry to the top.
If you could design a garment directly inspired by “Lux”, what would it be like?
Definitely something with volume. Lux is both theatrical and delicate, and above all, eclectic. Since T-shirts are our forte, we would craft a cotton tee blended with more refined elements, perhaps some transparency or natural silk.
The design that redefined its own story
Rosalía’s choice completed an unexpected circle: a garment born from paintings, drawings, mythology, and a song that the sisters admired reached the artist who, unknowingly, had already become part of the story behind its creation.
In that intersection of music, fashion, and visual narrative, the sisters found a way for their own design to also become a protagonist in Rosalía’s farewell from Buenos Aires.
