Netflix will premiere on November 13 The Pazos Crime, a Spanish miniseries of three episodes that blends suspense, police drama, and mystery, based on a real case that occurred in Galicia in 2015. With a story shaped by a criminal investigation and the failures in protecting a victim, the production aims to reconstruct an episode that shocked a small community.
The plot unfolds in the Galician town of Pazos, where Irene and her husband, Aniceto, seem to lead a quiet life until one night the woman suffers a brutal attack in her own home, apparently during a robbery. While she fights for her life in the hospital, Elías, a sergeant of the Civil Guard, begins to suspect that Aniceto is behind what happened.
Convinced that the husband is responsible for the assault, the investigator tries to have his warnings heard and for the victim to receive protection. However, his suspicions run up against a system that seems not to give his clues the importance they deserve. With Aniceto still at large and Irene’s life in danger, Elías must persist to bring the truth to light.
Who stars in The Pazos Crime
The miniseries is led by Tristán Ulloa, who portrays Sergeant Elías, and Miguel Borines, in the role of Aniceto. The cast also includes Carlos Blanco, Fer Fraga, Tito Asorey, Nacho Fresneda and Fernando Guillén Cuervo, among others.

Additionally, Verónica Sánchez and Edu Soto appear with special cameos. Sánchez plays Irene, the woman who suffers the assault that triggers the investigation.
Executive production is led by Ramón Campos and the direction is by Carlos Sedes. The screenplay was written by Ramón Campos, David Orea Arribas, Curro Serrano and Gema R. Neira, while Carlos Garcés was in charge of cinematography.
The real case that inspired Netflix’s miniseries
The Pazos Crime is inspired by the case of Isabel Fuentes, which occurred in April 2015 in the village of Pazos, in Verín, Galicia. The woman was attacked in her own home by supposed robbers and left seriously injured. While she was recovering in the hospital, the Civil Guard sergeant investigating the incident suspected that the initial robbery version did not explain what happened and tried to protect her.
However, 37 days after the attack, Isabel was murdered in the hospital room where she remained hospitalized. The case was marked by questions about the failures in the protective mechanisms that should have safeguarded the victim.

The story also has a documentary version on Netflix. On November 6, the platform released Desprotexida: The Pazos Crime, a documentary film directed by Jorge Laplace and produced by True Crime Factory, which reconstructs the real case through testimonies from investigators, doctors, family members, neighbors and journalists.
In this way, Netflix presents two productions linked to the same episode: first, the documentary that revisits Isabel Fuentes’ story and, a week later, the fiction miniseries that takes that case as its starting point.
