Valentina Barbier Stuns in Mesh Dress at Valeria Mazza’s Charity Gala

5 November 2026

The 19th annual gala of the Austral University Hospital brought together figures from the worlds of fashion, entertainment, and business at the Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires. Among the guests who stood out for their style selections was Valentina Barbier, Juliana Awada’s daughter, who opted for a design by Marcelo Giacobbe featuring one of the night’s most intriguing textures: mesh.

The young woman arrived at the charitable event and posed with Benicio and Taína Gravier, children of Valeria Mazza and Alejandro Gravier, in a photo that also drew the photographers’ attention.

For this occasion, Valentina chose a long dress, sleeveless with thin straps, a rounded neckline, and a straight silhouette that complemented her figure. The piece, by Marcelo Giacobbe, stood out for its shiny surface and its lattice of small appliqués that generated a glowing net effect.

The star of the styling was the mesh fabric, an open-structure material, similar to a net, that can create transparency and add texture to a garment.

In this case, Giacobbe elevated it to a nocturnal and sophisticated version: a dress reaching to the ankles, in a dark shade with silver glints and small sparkles distributed across the surface.

The result was a piece with a sensual and modern aesthetic, which combined the characteristic transparency of mesh with the visual impact of metallic reflections.

Valentina let the dress take center stage and complemented the design with a natural beauty look, featuring long, loose hair with soft waves.

What is mesh, the fabric that adds texture and translucency to fashion

Mesh is an open-weave fabric characterized by its net-like structure. It can appear in different materials, from light and transparent versions to others more embellished, with embroidery, appliqués, shines or metallic details.

In evening fashion, this technique allows playing with transparency without the need to resort to silhouettes that are too complex. It also provides depth and movement, especially when paired with sequins or small shiny appliqués.

Valentina’s choice showcases one of the more sophisticated possibilities of this trend: wearing a dress with simple lines and letting the texture be the true protagonist.

Valeria Mazza’s gala: a night of fashion and solidarity

Valentina Barbier’s presence occurred within the framework of the 19th edition of the annual gala organized by Valeria Mazza and Alejandro Gravier, in support of the Materno Infantil Department of the Austral University Hospital.

The model, godmother of the institution, once again gathered businesspeople, designers, models, and cultural and entertainment figures at the Palacio Duhau.

This year, the fundraising objective focused on the creation of a new Pediatric Day Hospital, designed to improve the care provided to children and adolescents with chronic illnesses.

Thus, on a night when Argentine fashion took a prominent place, Valentina Barbier contributed one of the most modern bets with a Marcelo Giacobbe mesh dress.
