Dua Lipa unveiled a green cat eye manicure in emerald green, featuring magnetic shimmer and a dark aesthetic perfect for Halloween.
Dark, glossy, and continually changing with light. Dua Lipa’s latest manicure embraces Halloween cues without using pumpkins, ghosts, or webs: all the impact is concentrated in a deep emerald green with a cat-eye effect.

The singer debuted the design during the opening night of Lincoln in the Bardo, at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. The credit goes to nail artist Mei Kawajiri, who replaced the black shade Dua usually opts for with a jewel-toned hue featuring magnetic reflections.
What the Dua Lipa Green Cat Eye Manicure Looks Like
The design features a very dark green base threaded with lighter specks. The shine is not evenly distributed: it concentrates in certain areas and creates a luminous stripe that shifts with the movement of the hands.
This result is characteristic of the cat eye manicure, known by this name because it visually reproduces the elongated reflection of a cat’s eye. In this case, the emerald green and the depth of the color give it a velvety, almost three-dimensional appearance.
Dua wore long nails with an almond shape, a choice that complements the intensity of the polish without adding other decorative elements.
How the Cat Eye Effect Is Achieved
The technique is performed with a magnetic polish that contains small reflective particles. Before the product sets, a special magnet is brought near to shift those particles and concentrate the shine in the chosen direction.

The position and movement of the magnet allow for a more defined line, a central glow, or a velvety, diffused effect. After that, the manicure is sealed to preserve the design.
To recreate Dua Lipa’s version, the key is to choose a dark emerald green and keep the rest of the look clean, without drawings or embellishments that compete with the reflection.
A Halloween Manicure That Stays Relevant Beyond the Date
The main appeal of the green cat eye is that it isn’t confined to Halloween night. Its dark palette nods to Halloween, but the jewel tone and shine also allow it to function as an elegant manicure for a night out or an event.

Dua Lipa thus found a discreet way to join the aesthetics of the date: she doesn’t need a costume or obvious nail art. The effect appears when the hands move and light reveals the different shades of green.
