The Pain of Julieta, Candela and Jimena, Daughters of Fernando Confessore, at Their Father’s Final Farewell

17 October 2026

The death of Fernando Confessore, the historic TN meteorologist, left a deep sorrow among his colleagues, friends, and family. On Saturday, October 17, during the wake, his three daughters, Julieta, Candela and Jimena, accompanied the farewell to their dad, who died at 58 after suffering a cardiac decompensation.

Images of the family farewell highlight the more intimate side of a figure who for three decades formed part of the daily life of television viewers. Behind the professional who each day shared the weather forecast, there was a man very close to his family, who chose to keep his private life away from media exposure.

Fernando Confessore and his wife Paula Franco built a love story spanning around four decades and had three daughters: Julieta, Candela and Jimena. Although the meteorologist was a recognized television figure, he tended to preserve his family’s privacy and shared occasional glimpses of his personal life on social media.

The eldest, Julieta, graduated as a chemical engineer from the National Technological University (UTN). Her academic training coexisted for years with another one of her great passions: volleyball. The young woman was part of Vélez Sarsfield’s women’s team, known as Las Fortineras, and her dad used to publicly express the pride he felt for her achievements.

In August 2025, when she celebrated her graduation, Confessore dedicated an emotional message and highlighted the effort she had made to complete her studies. For him, the degree represented much more than an academic achievement: it was the result of years of perseverance and dedication.

Candela, for her part, is dedicated to professional makeup, with work for brides, quinceañeras and social events, and studies Graphic Design at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).

Jimena, the youngest of the three sisters, maintains a more reserved profile and studies Architecture at UBA.

Paula Franco, la compañera de vida de Fernando Confessore

The family he formed with Paula Franco occupied a central place in the meteorologist’s life. Months before his death, Confessore had shared on social media a reflection about the fundamental role his wife played during his years of study and at the beginning of his professional career.

When recalling the moment he received his diploma as a Meteorology technician, in June 1992, he highlighted that Paula had accompanied him through the most demanding stages of his training and had encouraged him to keep going.

“She was much more than my life partner. She was the one who encouraged me when I had no strength, when there was a need to study and work at the same time, who believed in me even when I doubted”, he wrote.

In that post, he also thanked her for standing by him through both the happy and difficult moments. His words unveiled an intimate side of the meteorologist, who tended to speak little about his private life.

La despedida de Julieta a su papá en las redes sociales

After the news of Fernando Confessore’s death, Julieta also chose social networks to bid him farewell. The young woman shared a childhood photograph with her dad and accompanied the image with a phrase expressing the depth of her sadness: “I will love you and miss you for all eternity.”

The post was one of the family’s first public expressions after the news and allowed a view of the bond that united the young woman with the meteorologist.

Fernando Confessore died on Friday, October 16, at 58 years old, after suffering a cardiac decompensation at his home in the Versalles neighborhood of Buenos Aires. His passing caused a strong shock at TN, where he had worked since December 1995, and among those who knew him both on and off screen.

During the wake, his daughters and his wife were accompanied by relatives, friends, and colleagues who came to bid him farewell. The images of the day reflected the final goodbye to a man whose life was marked both by his extensive professional career and by the bond with his loved ones.
