Halloween 2026: 5 Rituals to Attract Love, Abundance, and Positive Energy

16 October 2026

Every October 31, Halloween, also known as All Hallows’ Eve, is celebrated—a date we associate with costumes, lit pumpkins, candy, and celebrations. But behind this tradition there is also a story connected to spirituality, the cycles of nature, and ancestral beliefs.

For those who enjoy these practices, Halloween represents a symbolic moment to release what no longer adds up, to give thanks for what has been lived, and to set intention for new beginnings.

Paula Martín, a holistic specialist, explains that this celebration has its roots in Samhain, an ancient Celtic festival that marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of a new cycle.

“According to these beliefs, the ancient Celts thought that during this night the line between this world and the other world of the dead would narrow, allowing spirits to pass from one side to the other of the two worlds,” she notes.

In this context, the specialist shares five symbolic rituals to perform during the Night of Witches.

1. Protection Ritual: to Renew the Energies of the Home

This ritual is designed for those seeking to create an atmosphere of protection and harmony in their home.

What you need: dried leaves, fruits and nuts, such as walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, and apples.

How to do it: gather the items and place small quantities in the four corners of your home. According to this tradition, they should remain there until November 3.

The intention is to symbolically represent the protection of the home and the connection with nature.

2. Love Ritual: to Open Yourself to New Connections

Halloween can also become an occasion to reflect on love, relationships, and what we wish to share with another person.

What you need: a walnut, a small candle, a bell, and a heat-resistant container with water.

How to do it: the traditional proposal is to place a small candle on half a walnut shell, secure it with a little wax, and add a bell as a symbolic element.

Then, place it in the container with water and formulate a wish related to love.

It can be performed thinking about a romantic relationship or the possibility of opening oneself to meet someone new.

For safety, it is advisable to use a small LED candle instead of a real flame on the walnut shell. This preserves the symbolic meaning of the ritual without the risk of fire.

3. Detox Ritual: to Release the Negative and Attract the Positive

This ritual suggests taking a moment to pause, connect with our thoughts, and let go of what we feel no longer serves us.

What you need: a white candle and a heat-resistant plate.

How to do it: place the candle on the plate, on a stable surface away from flammable materials. Light it and spend a few minutes thinking about what you want to release and the positive things you wish to attract into your life.

The idea is to accompany that moment with a clear intention, whether it’s to find peace, regain motivation, or begin a new chapter.

Extinguish the candle before you end the session and never leave it burning unattended.

4. Abundance Ritual: to Visualize New Opportunities

Abundance is not always related to money. It can also represent well-being, personal growth, job opportunities, or new projects.

What you need: eight grains of rice, a tablespoon of oats, eight laurel leaves, paper and pencil.

How to do it: gather the rice, oats, and laurel leaves in a container. In the traditional version of this ritual, the ingredients are placed in a censer and lit.

To do it more safely at home, you can keep the elements without burning them.

Then, write on a sheet of paper your name, the date, and the goals you would like to achieve.

Keep the paper alongside the ingredients as a symbolic reminder of your objectives.

The idea is to spend a few minutes visualizing what you wish to build in this new phase.

5. Moon Ritual: to Close Cycles and Find Clarity

“A good moment to close cycles and attract clarity,” explains Paula Martín when referring to this ritual.

What you need: a small box or a glass jar.

How to do it: at midnight, find a quiet place from which you can observe the moon.

Place the container in front of you and focus your attention on the moonlight while you think about what you want to leave behind and the new beginnings you wish to attract.

Then, recite the following line:

“In this receptacle of clear material, I guard this unparalleled strength.”

The container serves as a symbolic object to represent the intentions of renewal and clarity.

Halloween: a Night to Connect with Our Intentions

Beyond costumes and celebrations, the Night of Witches retains a strong symbolic component for those interested in spiritual traditions.

“On Halloween night it is essential to be able to perform one of these rituals, since there is a special energy, ideal for personal transformation, releasing what harms us and keeping away all kinds of spirits and negative vibes,” concludes Paula Martín.

Although there is no scientific evidence that these rituals attract love, abundance, or modify energies, they can become an opportunity to pause, reflect, and connect with our desires.

Because, sometimes, a small symbolic gesture can also help us put into words what we want to change in our lives.
