There are garments that transcend trends because they carry stories. With that idea as a starting point, Juliana García Bello presented Inhabiting the Garment SS27 on the runway of Feria Puro Diseño, a collection that invites us to rethink fashion from a much more intimate place: memory, affection, and circularity.
Through recovered and transformed pieces, the designer built a narrative where each garment ceases to be an object and becomes a second skin, loaded with experiences and emotions.

When Clothing Also Tells Stories
The collection starts from existing garments that find a new life without losing their essence. Shirts, dresses, and coats converse with one another through overlays and new constructions, respecting the original forms and creating a kind of large textile family.

Each look evoked the bonds that cross daily life: clothing inherited from a mother, the coat of a grandmother, the shirt that once belonged to a sister. Thus, the apparel transformed into a language capable of conveying memories, identity, and belonging.

A Sustainable Perspective from Design

In addition to its strong emotional charge, Inhabiting the Garment presented a deep reflection on conscious fashion. From a zero-waste perspective, Juliana García Bello worked with patterns that maximize the use of textiles, reducing waste and demonstrating that creativity can also be a tool for building a more responsible industry.

Each fragment found a new meaning within another garment, giving rise to unique designs where the idea of circularity ceased to be merely a concept and became part of the creative process.

Fashion to Connect with Others
Beyond the silhouettes and materials, the collection spoke of connection. Of the possibility to embrace, care, share, and build new bonds through what we wear. The layers, seams, and overlays functioned as a metaphor for those ties that transform us and accompany us throughout life.

With Inhabiting the Garment SS27, Juliana García Bello presented one of the most poignant proposals at Feria Puro Diseño, reminding us that fashion can also be a space to preserve memory, celebrate affection, and imagine new ways of inhabiting the world.
