From Madrid, Benjamín Vicuña Expressed Concern Over Chile Disaster

Benjamín Vicuña expressed his distress over the mudslide that caused significant damage in Santiago, Chile. The actor, who has lived in Argentina for more than two decades, turned to his social networks to share images of the emergency and to express his solidarity with those affected.

The phenomenon surprised residents of Las Condes and San Carlos de Apoquindo, where a strong surge of water and mud advanced through the streets, sweeping away vehicles and causing damage to shops and public facilities.

Through his Instagram stories, the actor posted a video from a local news channel that showed the power of the mudflow and the consequences of the storm in the streets of Santiago.

“In my country at this moment”, wrote Vicuña alongside the images, in a message that reflected his concern about what was happening in his homeland.

Then he added the word “Abrazos”, accompanied by a praying hands emoji and the Chilean flag, as a gesture of support to his compatriots amid the emergency.

At the moment of sharing his message, Vicuña was in Madrid, Spain, where he is shooting The Misunderstanding, the new movie by director Álex de la Iglesia. The actor was traveling accompanied by his partner, Anita Espasandín.

Although he has been based in Argentina for more than twenty years, Chile remains a central place in his personal story. In addition to being his homeland, much of his family lives there, a further reason to keep a close eye on what is happening in the affected region.

With his post, the actor joined the messages of solidarity with those facing the consequences of the mudslide, which left striking images in various parts of the Chilean capital.
