Rocío Marengo Joins Luján Pilgrimage to Thank Isidro: Heartfelt Message She Left Before Departure

4 October 2026

Rocío Marengo joined this Saturday the traditional pilgrimage to the Basilica of Luján and, in the rain, set out on the journey with a very special reason: to give thanks for the birth of her son Isidro, who arrived in her life in December 2025.

Before leaving, the presenter approached the stroller where her baby rested and told him with tenderness what the walk was for. “What’s wrong, my love? I’m going to go thank you for coming into my life. I love you, beautiful, I love you. I love you so much. I love you”, she said as she bid him farewell.

In the midst of that intimate moment, she also showed him the outfit she had chosen for facing the day and, with smiles, asked: “Do you like Mommy’s outfit?”.

The pilgrimage began under a persistent rain and Marengo prepared to traverse the route with a look tailored for the occasion. From Liniers, the traditional starting point, she appeared wearing a sky-blue bomber jacket over waterproof clothing and an umbrella to shield herself from the water.

Despite the bad weather, the presenter shared on her social media various moments of the journey and was showing how she advanced toward Luján. As she left behind the various towns of western Buenos Aires Province, she also recounted the route and the change in the weather.

Castelar, Ituzaingó and Merlo were some of the places left behind as Marengo continued with her journey. The persistent rain gave way at times to a clearer sky, but the purpose of the walk remained intact from the start: to give thanks for the son she had waited for so long.

Rocío Marengo and the Birth of Isidro

Isidro was born on December 3, 2025, at 10:54 a.m., at Otamendi Sanatorium in Buenos Aires. Marengo had been hospitalized since November 29, in the 33rd week of gestation, by medical advice.

The baby weighed 2.480 kilograms and, having been born prematurely, remained several days in Neonatology.

Later, Marengo shared details of that day in an interview with The Morning with Moria, on El Trece. According to her account, the day had started normally, but during the tests she began to consider the possibility of delivering early.

“I had already started the day normally, had breakfast, they ran the tests and it started to be discussed that something needed to be done about delivery,” she recalled.

The arrival of Eduardo Fort at the sanatorium was also part of a day she described as dizzying. “There we called Edu, who seemed not to arrive. Then they told my sister who was with me to change and come yourself. After that, Edu arrived as well. It was all very rushed,” she said.

Marengo also acknowledged that she felt fear at the possibility that the birth might have to be brought forward. “I got scared at one point and asked, why can’t we wait a little longer? But afterward everything was wonderful, better than scheduled,” she affirmed.

The first encounter with her son was etched in her memory. “Isidro started crying and moving, but after a moment they placed him on my chest and he calmed down instantly. I can’t believe it,” she recounted.

After birth, the baby had to remain under special care due to his prematurity. “They told me that at any moment they would remove a little device that helps him breathe, because of his weeks of birth. So everything is perfect,” Marengo had said during those first days.

Isidro is Rocío Marengo’s first child and the fourth of Eduardo Fort, who is already father to Macarena and to the twins Angie and Pietro.

Nearly ten months after that birth that changed her life, Marengo decided to embark on the journey to Luján to give thanks. This time, the promise had a very clear recipient: her son, to whom, before starting the pilgrimage, she told with immense tenderness, “I’m going to thank you for coming into my life.”
