Juana Viale spoke candidly about motherhood and surprised everyone by revealing that, at 44, she would become a mother again. The host was invited to “Another Day Lost”, the program hosted by Mario Pergolini, and during the conversation she recalled how she experienced her pregnancies, the postpartum, and raising her children.
The conversation emerged from a reflection on the passage of time and the different stages of motherhood. Juana said she had her children between the ages of 20 and 30, and described that period as a “very harmonious” and “very beautiful” experience, in which she learned to grow empathically.
Today, with her youngest child aged 14, she recognizes that family dynamics are different and that her children are increasingly autonomous. “Now I’m more like: ‘Oh, don’t do that.’ Well, I’m not really parenting anymore,” she joked.

Pergolini agreed with the host about the independence her children currently have. However, Juana made a clarification that, for her, marks a fundamental difference: motherhood does not end when the children grow up.
“Para madre, para mí un hijo siempre es chico,” she asserted.
And she elaborated on that feeling that, she explained, remains even when the children leave the family home: “You never stop being a mother, even if they go to live on their own.”
Then she added: “You’ll never sleep soundly again, even if they don’t live with you.”.
The discussion also led to reflections on the drop in birth rates and the difficulties many people face when deciding whether to have children. In that context, Juana noted that economic factors can also be a constraint.
“It’s harder to have a child today, economically speaking,” she affirmed.

Pergolini then mentioned the growing number of women who have children after 40. Juana took the remark with humor and replied: “I’m still in my prime to have children.”
That’s when the host directly asked the question that surprised everyone: “Would you have another child?”
Juana’s reply came immediately: “Again. I know the experience; I’ve been through it.”
Thus, the host made clear that she does not rule out going through another pregnancy at 44. Although she did not announce any pregnancy or discuss a concrete plan to expand her family, she admitted that the idea of becoming a mother again appeals to her.

And she explained that that feeling does not end with the baby’s birth: “I feel revitalized, I love it. I also like the postpartum; I enjoy the bond with the baby.”
Her enthusiasm was also evident when Pergolini asked whether she enjoyed the distinctive scent of a baby. The answer was again emphatic: “I love it.”
The host, by contrast, took a very different stance toward some customs that have emerged around pregnancies in recent years, such as baby showers and gender-reveal celebrations.
“Please, let’s not be ridiculous. That’s contemporary,” she commented.
In addition, she shared that she has a particular way of approaching that moment: she prefers to learn the sex of her children only when they are born. “I find out the sex of my children when they are born.”

Juana Viale is the mother of Ámbar, Silvestre, and Alí. She also had Ringo, who died during childbirth in 2011.
With her children now older and navigating a different stage of parenting, the host recognizes that having another baby would mean starting a path she already knows. Yet far from seeing it as negative, she spoke with enthusiasm about the possibility.

“She’s very well, she’s advancing, she’s improving, she has her improvements. But well, she is an elderly woman,” she explained.
The host also shared that Mirtha remains active and attentive to current events: “She watches TV; everything goes on. She watches her own programs, she watches the news. Today she’s watching this, so to speak. Very attentive, very active.”
The exchange ended with a joke between them. After Pergolini referenced a previous situation, Juana replied with humor: “Tomorrow you’ll be admitted to hospital.”
The host kept up the joke and suggested the possibility of waking up at Sanatorio Mater Dei and finding her there. Juana then reiterated that her grandmother continues to recover: “But she’s getting better, at her own pace.”
