Jimena Monteverde is usually associated with cooking and television, but in recent days a family appearance allowed a glimpse into a lesser-known facet of her life. During a remote segment for Puro Show, the chef became emotional when Mati Vázquez and Pampito mentioned her brother, who had been invited to Another Day Lost, the program hosted by Mario Pergolini.
Jimena’s reaction was immediate. She spoke of Ramiro with pride and said that he is the youngest of five siblings. “We are five, all very hardworking. I am the oldest and he is the youngest,” she explained.
Who is Ramiro Olleac, Jimena Monteverde’s younger brother
Ramiro Olleac is a surgeon, with training as a traumatologist, orthopedist, and a specialist in neuro-orthopedics. His professional activity is mainly connected to patients with neurological conditions, syndromic disorders, and mobility difficulties.
Currently he conducts part of his work in Tucumán, where he is part of CINEA and treats children and adolescents. His specialty covers problems related to bones, muscles and joints that can arise in connection with various neurological conditions.
Additionally, he participates in projects related to the study of motor function and mobility, with the aim of contributing to the care of people with motor disabilities.
How his vocation for neuro-orthopedics began
The choice of this specialty began to take shape during his years as a student in Buenos Aires. While studying Medicine, Ramiro landed a job assisting children with disabilities at a swimming pool.
Part of his task involved accompanying them and teaching them to use a wheelchair. That experience had a significant impact on his professional path and ultimately steered him toward neuro-orthopedics.
His training included renowned health institutions such as the Hospital Británico and the Hospital Garrahan, both in Buenos Aires. Over time, his work focused on patients with neurological or syndromic conditions and, especially, on those situations that affect mobility.
His work with patients with motor disabilities
Neuro-orthopedics is the area where Ramiro developed much of his career. His work is focused on patients with motor disabilities and on problems that can compromise bones, muscles and joints as a consequence of different neurological conditions.
Throughout his career he participated in treatments of patients with complex conditions and worked alongside other professionals in interventions aimed at improving their mobility and quality of life.
Currently, his professional activity continues in Tucumán, where he also leads projects related to the study of motor function.
