Mirtha Legrand’s health remains under medical care and continues to captivate the entertainment world. The 99-year-old host remains hospitalized at Sanatorio Mater Dei since Friday, September 18, when she was readmitted to the facility, only five days after being discharged.
In the midst of uncertainty, Ángel de Brito returned to address the host’s health during a recent episode of Bondi Live. There, the journalist provided details about the information he received and emphasized the importance of handling a delicate situation with prudence.
As he explained, Mirtha is undergoing a bacterial pneumonia and remains in intensive care. Two days earlier, De Brito also noted that the doctors managed to identify the bacteria involved in the condition and that, based on that finding, they could begin a specific treatment.

“I will be very prudent. Mirtha was admitted again on Friday, the updates provided by the Mater Dei Sanatorium must come at the family’s request; it is essentially nothing, they don’t say anything,” De Brito explained when speaking about the official information released.
According to the statement signed by Enrique Echagüe, the medical director of the institution, Mirtha “continues to evolve favorably as expected.”
The report also indicated that she will continue with “the specific treatment for the condition and the necessary checks.” It also noted that she received visits from her closest family members, who expressed their gratitude for the respect and affection shown during these days.
Later, the journalist referred to the host’s condition and highlighted the importance of considering her age. “Mirtha is suffering from a bacterial pneumonia; it is an extremely difficult state for anyone, and for a 99-year-old woman,” he noted.
However, the journalist also conveyed a piece of information he considered positive within this context. According to him, the doctors were able to identify the bacteria causing the infection.
