Some trends appear for a season and then fade away. Others return, renewed. Pastel tones belong to that second group.
This spring-summer 2026/27 they reclaim a leading place, but with an important difference: they’re no longer worn solely in romantic or hyper-feminine looks. Today I see them as much more minimalist, sophisticated, and even with a quiet luxury vibe that I absolutely love.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned while working in fashion, the secret never lies in the garment itself, but in how we combine it.
My first tip: embrace the total look
I know many people fear monochrome because they think it can be dull. I experience the exact opposite.
An ensemble in butter-yellow, baby blue, powder pink, or pistachio green always exudes elegance.
My tip is to play with different textures: linen, lightweight suiting, cotton, silk, or fine fabrics. When the color is the same, textures make all the difference.
The trick I always use: mix them together
For years we were told that pastels should be paired with white. Today the rules have changed.
One of the combinations we’ll see most this season is sky blue with butter-yellow, pink with chocolate, mint green with pearl gray or lavender with beige.
They are soft, modern pairings and much more interesting than betting on a single color.
If you’re not ready to commit, start with accessories

The colors I’ll wear most this season
There are five that are my favorites.
- Butter-yellow.
- Powder pink.
- Baby blue.
- Pistachio green.
- Lavender.
The five work very well together and, in addition, pair perfectly with the basics we all have in our closets.
Balance is the key
There is a mistake I try to avoid: when color is already the protagonist, there’s no need to add too many prints, flashy accessories, or overly bold makeup.
Pastels carry a quiet elegance. That is precisely where their charm lies.
This season I plan to make the most of them because they brighten any look, refresh the outfit, and have that ability to appear sophisticated without trying too hard. And, if there’s one thing fashion has taught me, it’s that the trends that truly work are the ones that make us feel comfortable, confident, and eager to wear them again and again.
