There are pains that time does not erase. Perhaps because it isn’t about erasing them. One learns, in some way, to walk with them, to make space for them within life, to turn absence into memory and memory into a way of continuing to love.
Every September 8, Benjamín Vicuña returns to Blanca. He remembers her, names her, speaks of her. And this year he chose to do so through a text of enormous sensitivity, one that did not hide the pain but also did not let it be the only thing defining his tribute.
