Venice once again became the epicenter of cinema and glamour. On September 2, the 83rd edition of the Venice International Film Festival officially began, one of the most important and eagerly anticipated events in the world of cinema.
The opening ceremony took place at the iconic Sala Grande of the Palazzo del Cinema, on the Lido of Venice, and brought together major figures from the film industry and the world of entertainment.
The night also marked the world premiere of ‘Ink’, the new film directed by Danny Boyle, which was chosen as the festival’s opening film for this edition. The production, starring Jack O’Connell, Guy Pearce, and Claire Foy, is part of the official competition.

As happens every year, the festival’s opening was not only defined by cinema. The red carpet also became one of the premier stages for international fashion.
Actors, actresses, models, and renowned personalities began arriving in the Italian city to participate in one of the most prestigious events of the cinematic season.

Among the guests on opening night were important figures from cinema and entertainment, who gathered to celebrate the start of a new edition of the festival. The opening ceremony also included a special moment for George Clooney, who received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
