Fashion weeks stopped being merely runways long ago: today they act as laboratories of trends that cross disciplines and worlds. Chevrolet confirmed this with its participation in the Spring-Summer 2026/2027 edition of BAFWEEK, from August 21 to 28 at La Rural, through an innovative exhibition format. On this occasion, the bow-tie brand chose to present its lineup of electrified vehicles in a way far from the norm, incorporating a live artistic intervention.
Live Art, the Trend That Dominates the Runways
The brand’s involvement began on August 21, during the opening day of BAFWEEK. From that moment, the core of the proposal hinged on two live artistic interventions, performed before the audience. On Monday the 24th, designer Vanesa Krongold intervened a Chevrolet Spark EUV, the automaker’s 100% electric model; on Tuesday the 25th, the guest artist Samot did the same on a second Chevrolet Captiva PHEV. Both vehicles stayed on display, post-intervention, to accompany the event throughout the week.

The most exciting detail for those who follow these crossover moments is that Krongold not only intervened a car: she also joins BAFWEEK’s official lineup with her own runway show on August 28. This dual role, as an artist intervening a design object and as a designer presenting her own collection in the same week, is precisely the kind of disciplinary crossover that is setting trends.

Design That Speaks to Fashion
Beyond performance, the vehicles themselves functioned as design pieces, a fact that directly ties into one of the season’s major trends: reimagining everyday objects as aesthetic items. The Spark EUV, offered in a palette of five exclusive colors with a two-tone roof, was envisioned with a youthful, urban aesthetic. Meanwhile, the Captiva PHEV embraces a more premium language, featuring a panoramic sunroof, projector-type LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and details such as an electric tailgate and a driver’s seat adjustable in six directions.

Both proposals, though targeting different audiences, share a common spirit: technology is integrated organically into aesthetics, with digital dashboards, large-format multimedia systems, and 360-degree cameras that converse with a user who increasingly values design and innovation.

Sustainability and Technology: The New Language of Luxury
If there is a transversal trend across fashion, design, and mobility right now, it is sustainability understood as a status value. The Spark EUV is 100% electric, with up to 360 kilometers of range on a single charge and a 42 kWh lithium-ion battery, while the Captiva PHEV is a plug-in hybrid with over 1,000 kilometers of combined range, designed for those who want to take the technological leap without sacrificing everyday usability.

This fusion of efficiency, technology, and mindful design is precisely what is redefining luxury for new generations: it is no longer just about aesthetics, but about smart choices that also reveal something about the person making them. Chevrolet’s participation in BAFWEEK confirms that trends are not only seen on the runway: they are also built in the spaces surrounding it, where art, design, and technology converge.
