Marta Fort’s name has once again taken center stage. This time, Ricardo Fort’s daughter spoke about her family history, recalled the assisted reproductive method through which she was born alongside her twin brother, Felipe, and explained what decision she would make in the future if she wishes to become a mother.
During an interview with Puro Show (El Trece), Marta was asked whether it bothered her to have been born via gestational surrogacy and whether she would make a similar choice to have children.
Far from questioning her father’s decision, the young woman was firm when speaking about her own plans for motherhood.
“Obvious, I have an age limit for that. I’ve said that by 35, 36 years old I will be single, I have no plans with anyone and there’s nothing in place for me to become a mother naturally, that’s how I see it, because I want to be a mother”, she revealed.
She even joked between laughs: “If I have them, may they be blond with light eyes and if not, may they be dark-haired”.
In this way, Marta made clear that she does not renounce the method through which Ricardo Fort chose to form his family and that, when the time comes, she would be willing to resort to a similar alternative to fulfill her desire to become a mother.
How Marta and Felipe, Ricardo Fort’s children, were born
Ricardo Fort had his twins, Marta and Felipe, through gestational surrogacy in California, United States, in February 2004.
The businessman was one of the first celebrities to turn to this method to become a father, and during the interview Marta spoke plainly about that decision.
The conversation also led Marta to reflect on the different ways a person can build a family.
During the interview, the reporter brought up the case of a woman born through gestational surrogacy who, over the years, had spoken out against that method.
In response to that situation, Marta considered that personal experiences and the support received during childhood can influence how each person interprets their own history.
“If she is against that method, it’s because the person who carried her did not accompany her properly. Because I had a father, I did not have a mother, but at the same time I had an adoptive mother, who is Marisa, who was my nanny. I had Gustavo, I have César my lawyer…”, she explained.
In that sense, she highlighted the presence of different people who played fundamental roles in her life and whom she considers part of her family.
“I am surrounded by adoptive relatives like my uncles, and I don’t think it’s wrong. Because at the time my father would have to adopt or be with a woman and pretend something he didn’t like”, she stated.
And she summarized her stance with a blunt phrase: “I feel that if one is well supported, the method is secondary”.

Beyond her personal view on gestational surrogacy, Marta also remembered the difficulties she and her brother faced during their childhood, especially due to the lack of knowledge surrounding this reproductive method.
According to her account, on certain occasions they received looks and pity-filled comments from people who did not understand their family story.
“They looked at us with pity, like, ‘Oh, her mother died’ or ‘Her mother abandoned her and they won’t tell her.’ It wasn’t until years later that those people understood what that procedure was”, she recalled.
The young woman also revealed that they even faced difficulties at school due to the lack of information about her birth. “Even we were held back from a high school because they didn’t understand the story, ‘How can this be?’, they would say,” she related.
However, Marta insisted that she never felt that her family history was a reason to question her identity.
