The Friends of the Cervantes National Theatre Association organized a special performance of the successful Argentine musical, which brought together leading figures from culture, entertainment, diplomacy and the business world.

The Yellow Brick Road illuminated a very special night. “The Wizard of Oz”, one of the season’s major successes at the Cervantes National Theatre, was the setting chosen for the traditional institutional gala performance organized by the Cervantes National Theatre Friends Association.

The evening brought together outstanding personalities from culture, show business, diplomacy, the business sector and Argentine society, who enjoyed one of the season’s most ambitious musical productions.

Among the figures who joined this special night were Mirtha Legrand and Graciela Borges, two major figures in our culture, along with other personalities who added to an audience comprised of both adults and children.

A Grand Ovation for “The Wizard of Oz”

The performance ended with an emotional standing ovation for the cast of this Argentine musical inspired by the famous book by L. Frank Baum.

The work features dramaturgy by Marisé Monteiro, music by Martín Bianchedi and Ángel Mahler, orchestral direction by Damián Mahler and general direction by Sebastián Irigo.

At the head of the cast is Albana Fuentes, who plays Dorothy, accompanied by performers such as Vanesa Butera, Luis Longhi, Claudio Martínez Bel, Emiliano Larea and Leo Trento, in addition to a large team of actors, singers, dancers and musicians.

The Success That Captivated the Audience

The megaproduction, produced entirely by the Cervantes National Theatre, has been staged since June with a strong audience response.

The success was such that, after selling out its seats, the production added new performances during September so that more audiences could enjoy this story that continues to spark the imagination of both adults and children.

A Gala to Celebrate Argentine Theatre

The institutional performance was organized by the Friends of the Cervantes National Theatre Association, led by Carolina Petroni de Bereciartua.
