Argentina Fashion Week: Haute Couture and Signature Design in a New Chapter for Fashion

28 August 2026

Fashion can speak of a place, of a story, of an emotion, or even of a dream. And that is what happened this Thursday at the Palacio San Miguel, during the second show of Argentina Fashion Week.

At 5 p.m., four designers and brands took the runway with very different proposals, yet united by a common goal: to elevate design, materials, and the labor behind each garment.

From a sea-inspired mood by a Colombian label to a couture collection born from textile research; from a tribute to Argentine identity to a bridal concept crafted so that every bride can feel like herself.

Islote Blanco: a journey between sea and city

The Colombian label Islote Blanco, founded and led by Daniel Salazar Castelblanco, arrived at Argentina Fashion Week with “Between Tides and the Sun”, a collection that proposes a dialogue between two worlds.

On one side, the warmth of a sea breeze. On the other, the architectural sophistication of major cities.

The proposal is built through fluid silhouettes, softly draped lines, artisanal details, and monochrome ensembles crafted in 100% certified linen.

The outcome is a relaxed, contemporary luxury where natural materials and the movement of the garments take center stage.

Roberto Vence Couture presents “ALMA”

One of the collections most closely linked to the haute couture universe was “ALMA” by Roberto Vence Couture.

Roberto Vence

The collection stems from years of research around natural silk and artisanal craftsmanship. Its materials include organza, chantung, and silk gauze, in addition to silk produced from Bombyx mori breeding developed by the designer.

Roberto Vence

In “ALMA”, the process begins long before a garment reaches the runway. The silkworm rearing, fiber extraction, patternmaking, moulage, embroidery, and construction all form part of a single creative vision.

Roberto Vence

The silhouettes are refined, allowing the material to take center stage. Hand embroidery, Swarovski crystal applications, and finishes with silk thread of the designer’s own production complete each piece.

The palette moves between off-white whites, deep blues, and golds—three tones that accompany the play of textures and light in the collection.

Additionally, during the presentation the Matriz Textil Vence was unveiled, a new material developed after years of research and protected by an Argentine patent, appearing in selected pieces.

Thus, the proposal presents a way of understanding contemporary luxury where value lies not only in form but also in knowledge, time, and craftsmanship.

Andrea López presents “The Glory,” a tribute to Argentine identity

The Ramallo-born designer Andrea López arrived at Argentina Fashion Week with a capsule collection of just five haute couture gowns, yet carrying a huge message.

Andrea López

Under the name “The Glory”, the collection celebrates Argentines who took their dreams beyond borders and represented the country on various stages.

The collection speaks of effort, missteps, perseverance, and pride. And it does so through a distinctly Argentine blend: white tulle embroidered in light blue and gold done by hand.

The show also featured a particularly emotional moment: as part of the staging, the Argentine National Anthem was performed by Luz Despósito.

The surprise came in the final walk when the last dress concealed the Argentine flag, which was unfurled across the runway.

A closing moment designed to celebrate much more than fashion: the dreams, identity, and pride of being Argentine.

Atelier S&S contemplates a bride who wants to remain herself

The bridal universe was represented by Atelier S&S, a label grounded on a simple yet powerful idea: no bride should have to lose her sense of self on her wedding day.

Atelier S&S

Its new collection, “Entre Lazos”, explores bonds and the beginning of a new phase through lace, sheer fabrics, textures, volumes, and delicate details.

Atelier S&S

The collection aims to combine femininity, comfort, and sophistication, with designs conceived to move with the wearer and respect her personality.

Atelier S&S

The veil, the bouquet, the ribbons, and the textures also acquire a special meaning within the collection. Each element becomes part of a language that seeks to tell a bit of each bride’s story.

Atelier S&S

Because for Atelier S&S the goal is not to transform a woman into someone else for her wedding, but to ensure that when she looks in the mirror, she still sees herself.
