There are personal stories that, sooner or later, find a way to become fashion. For Luján Sáez, that story centers on two main protagonists: hockey and apparel.
On Wednesday, August 26, at La Rural, the designer presented N.1, her first collection within BAFWEEK Spring/Summer 2027 and the official debut of LS, a new phase that takes the legacy of ONA SÁEZ and carries it toward a contemporary language.
The presentation brought together around 30 looks and fostered a dialogue between two worlds that had coexisted for years in the designer’s life: sport and fashion. On the runway, hockey stopped being a literal reference and became an aesthetic language—threaded with haute couture, denim, tailoring, and artisanal craftsmanship.
N.1: Hockey as the Starting Point
The collection is born from a simple yet powerful idea: what shapes us can also become our identity.
In N.1, hockey-specific elements such as shin guards, pads, helmets, nets, court lines and uniforms are reinterpreted through fashion. The functional becomes a design resource, and sports codes appear reworked with an urban and experimental gaze.
The collection also incorporates other elements that form part of Luján Sáez’s universe: reconstructed denim, customization, transparency, structures, studs, and manual intervention.
The result is a collection where strength and sensitivity, discipline and freedom, memory and transformation coexist.
From Hockey Couture to Street Denim
The show unfolded in chapters that allowed telling the story of N.1 as a journey.
The opening was marked by Hockey Couture, where references to sportswear were elevated into a luxury realm. Shin guards, pads, nets, and hockey structures appeared alongside leather, tailoring, chains, and corsetry.
Then, The Game as Language translated the sport’s graphics into garments. The court lines, nets and hockey geometries became prints, jacquards, and tailoring techniques.
The third chapter, Street/Denim, took the collection into one of the designer’s most recognizable territories. Reconstructed jeans, patchworks, multiple belts, studs, and artisanal processes merged with sports and rock codes.
The Archive of Argentine Hockey Also Reached the Runway
One of the most conceptual moments of the show was The Archive, a chapter in which historic photographs of Argentine hockey were recovered to become large-format prints.
The decision transforms sport into memory. The images function as a way to speak about belonging, identity and legacy, but also to connect the designer’s personal history with a collective story.
In N.1, the archive does not appear as nostalgia: it becomes raw material to create something new.
When Denim Becomes a Jewel
Another major protagonist was denim, a material that Luján Sáez redefines throughout the entire collection.
In Denim as a Jewel, jeans shed their everyday character to become a precious surface. Foil, appliqués, shine and embroidery intervene in the fabric, pushing it into a more sophisticated realm.
Toward the end, that transformation reaches its maximum expression. Denim gains volume and sculptural construction, with fibers turning into three-dimensional textures and forms that move entirely away from the traditional idea of jeans.
The Virgin of Luján, Between Protection, Origin and Identity
The closing was one of the collection’s most symbolic moments. Two dresses inspired by religious stained glass, in celeste, white and silver tones, staged the figure of the Virgin of Luján as a symbol of protection, origin and identity.
Her presence connects directly with the designer’s name and with a more intimate dimension of the proposal. After moving through sport, the archive, denim and experimentation, the show finds in this symbol a way to return to the origin.
The collection thus presents a constant contrast between protection and vulnerability, strength and sensitivity.
Fashion, Music and New Muses
LS’s debut also had a performative dimension. The emerging artist Lisa Scha joined the show with a live musical performance that created an intense and emotive atmosphere.
The runway also featured several muses linked to the brand’s universe, including Juana Tinelli, Indiana and Allegra Cubero, Olivia Cattaneo and Charo Calamaro, among other guests.
In this way, the presentation transcended the traditional notion of a fashion show to become an experience where fashion, music, identity and performance shared the stage.
Luján Sáez: a New Phase with a Look Toward the Origin
N.1 functions, ultimately, as a declaration of principles.
The collection seeks not only to present a new brand, but to explain where it comes from and where it wants to go. ONA SÁEZ’s legacy appears reinterpreted by a new generation, with a more experimental and personal perspective.
Hockey provides discipline, belonging and resilience. Fashion adds sensitivity, craftsmanship and freedom of expression. Denim serves as a bridge between both worlds.
And in that crossroads, LS emerges: a brand that does not seek to occupy a specific place in a ranking, but to build identity from what made it possible.
Because before any result, there is a journey. And in Luján Sáez’s case, that journey begins in hockey, traverses fashion, and arrives at a new way of telling her own story.
