Nicole Kidman’s Double Chanel Moment in London: Two Glamorous, Sophisticated Looks

28 August 2026

Nicole Kidman once again demonstrated why she is one of the foremost fashion icons on red carpets. During the London premiere of Practical Magic 2 in London, the actress starred in two consecutive appearances in Chanel designs that, though very different from one another, shared a common thread: sophistication.

The actress, who reprises the role of Gillian Owens alongside Sandra Bullock, chose the French house for both the premiere and the film’s photocall. Two settings, two dresses, and two ways of interpreting glamour.

The spectacular Chanel dress Nicole Kidman wore at the premiere

For the night of August 26, Nicole Kidman selected a striking Chanel design for the London premiere of Practical Magic 2.

It was a long strapless dress, with a form-fitting silhouette and a slit that added movement and sensuality to the design. The piece, in a delicate tone between aqua green and silver, was entirely covered in sequins, creating a luminous effect that intensified with every movement.

But the true focal point was at the top. Across the bodice, an elaborate arrangement of gold chains and pearl details unfurled, starting from the neckline and cascading over the silhouette like a piece of jewelry integrated into the dress.

The result was a high-impact look, where Chanel combined the sparkle of the sequins with the sophistication of the pearls and the gold.

Kidman completed the styling with gold strappy sandals and accessories in the same tone, while wearing her blonde hair loose and a luminous makeup that complemented the ethereal effect of the dress.

The design also played with an attractive contrast: a feminine and sensual silhouette, yet pierced by jewelry-inspired elements that gave it a sophisticated and almost sculptural imprint.

The next day, she swapped red-carpet glamour for a black dress

On August 27, Nicole Kidman again wore Chanel for the photocall of Practical Magic 2 in London, but this time she opted for a completely different look.

The actress wore a short black dress, with a deep neckline and a voluminous skirt, which drew attention to her legs and to the structure of the silhouette.

The detail that transformed a classic piece into something much more special were the rows of pearls along the shoulders, creating a kind of double necklace integrated into the garment.

The pearl feature worked as a bridge to the premiere look: if in the first dress pearls appeared paired with gold chains and sequins, in the second they become the standout detail of a classic little black dress.

Kidman completed the styling with white-and-black slingback shoes and delicate jewelry, maintaining an elegant but much more relaxed aesthetic than the previous night.

Two dresses, two versions of Nicole Kidman

The choice of Chanel allowed the actress to build two very different images in barely 24 hours.

For the premiere, she went for visual impact: sparkle, sequins, chains, pearls and a long silhouette that turned the dress into the main protagonist.

For the photocall, instead, she chose the sophistication of a short black dress, with a lighter silhouette and a pearl detail that added personality without needing to resort to excess.

Two proposals that demonstrated Kidman’s versatility and her ability to move between the glamour of a red carpet and the most refined elegance of a photocall without losing her identity.

And in both cases, Chanel proved to be the meeting point between the actress and fashion.
