Gala For You: Benito Fernández Recreates a Design Inspired by Queen Máxima of the Netherlands

22 August 2026

The Para Ti Gala was also an opportunity to revisit some of the most emblematic moments in Argentine fashion. In this edition, Benito Fernández chose to look back at one of his most recognizable creations and reinterpret it from a fresh perspective.

For the occasion, the designer created with his muse, Serena Bruenner, a couture-inspired look based on a design he had created for Máxima of the Netherlands.

The proposal retrieves some of the codes that form part of Benito’s universe and brings them back to the scene, in a piece where artisanal craftsmanship and the richness of textures play a central role.

A design inspired by Máxima of the Netherlands

The look begins with a creation Benito Fernández had designed for Máxima and that now returns to life in a new interpretation.

Natural silk chantung top combines different volumes and a patchwork treatment that adds visual richness to the upper part of the ensemble.

The choice of material also allows the piece to retain that haute couture spirit that characterizes the proposal, while the construction plays with different dimensions and textures.

A skirt made entirely by hand

The other major protagonist of the look is the skirt, crafted entirely by hand.

The piece stands out for a composition of textures and shines, which create depth and movement and make artisanal craftsmanship one of the central axes of the design.

Thus, the ensemble offers a couture vision where every detail matters and where manual craftsmanship becomes an essential part of the piece’s identity.

A reinterpretation under the Latency concept

The choice to revive a design associated with Máxima also resonates with the concept chosen for this edition of the Gala: “Latency”.

The idea invites precisely to look at what exists before a creation becomes an image: time, craft, materials and know-how that endure and can be transformed again.

In this case, Benito Fernández starts from a reference from his own journey to give it a new life on the Para Ti runway.

The result is a look that connects past and present, and that allows revisiting a creation from another perspective.

The details that completed the look

The ensemble was completed with gloves from Casa El Castor and accessories from Fahoma, accompanying the couture proposal. The shoes were by Sylvie Geronimi.

The styling was by Delfina Citro, while the makeup was done by Florencia Ortells and the hair by Matt Herrera, at the Nathacha Nina studio.

Thus, Benito Fernández revived a creation braided with fashion history and brought it to the Para Ti Gala from a new perspective: a piece that revives a special milestone of his career and, years later, finds another way to shine again.

A night to celebrate Argentine fashion

The Para Ti Gala gathered on August 19 various figures from the local scene to celebrate the magazine’s 104th anniversary.

At the Basavilbaso Palace, each of the muses wore a creation specially designed for this evening, in a celebration where Latency was the starting point for imagining new ways to understand fashion and creativity.

With its stately architecture, its details inspired by French charm, and an atmosphere that blends history and sophistication, the Palacio Basavilbaso was the chosen stage for the Para Ti Gala. A unique space that, with its timeless elegance, made this night even more special.

Betano was part of the Para Ti gala with an activation that invited the night’s protagonists to experience something different, in line with its entertainment and fun proposition.

Drean joined the Para Ti gala with a proposal that combined design, innovation and technology, and surprised guests with an exclusive preview of its new era, through a teaser of its upcoming release.

Bodega Escorihuela Gascón accompanied another edition of the Para Ti Gala, pairing a selection of its wines with a night that celebrates the evolution of fashion and contemporary culture. This participation aligns with the brand’s strategic vision to inhabit culturally relevant spaces, connecting its legacy with the platforms and conversations that define today’s vanguard.

The safety of the Gala was provided by Perroti, who accompanied the invited figures throughout the night.

In keeping with a night that celebrates fashion, the ambiance of the Para Ti Gala was managed by Mónica Pons Eventos, with a sophisticated and stylish setup that complemented the elegance of the Palacio Basavilbaso. @monicapons_eventos.
