The difference from conventional highlights lies in customization. The colorist defines the shade, intensity, and placement of each lightening considering the base hair color, the haircut, and the face structure.
The aim is a result that is more integrated and subtle than the classic money piece, avoiding the front strands from looking like two separate blocks of color.
