Lionel Messi is synonymous with football, records, and titles, but off the field he has also built a true business empire. Among his investments stands MiM Hotels, a chain of luxury boutique hotels that combines design, gastronomy, wellness, and prime locations across Europe.
The project began in 2017 with the acquisition of MiM Sitges, near Barcelona, and over the years it added new properties in high-end destinations. Today, the brand counts six hotels spread across Spain and Andorra: Sitges, Ibiza, Mallorca, Baqueira Beret, Andorra and Sotogrande.
Although the hotel operation was placed in the hands of Meliá Hotels International, which incorporated the properties into its premium The Meliá Collection, Messi remains the owner of the business.
MiM Sitges: the first hotel in Messi’s project
Located just a few meters from the beach on the coast near Barcelona, the MiM Sitges marked the starting point of the footballer’s hotel venture.

The building features 77 rooms, a spa, a gym, event spaces, and a terrace with a pool and a panoramic bar offering views of the Mediterranean. Additionally, its design emphasizes sustainability and has earned certifications related to energy efficiency.
Rates start roughly from 120 euros per night, depending on the season.

MiM Ibiza Es Vivé: the island’s most exclusive hotel
In one of the Mediterranean’s most famous destinations lies MiM Ibiza Es Vivé, a hotel designed exclusively for adults with a strong Art Deco-inspired aesthetic.
The establishment has 52 rooms, a pool, relaxation areas, and an offering focused on nightlife enjoyment and the island’s spirit.

Rooms can exceed 500 euros per night during peak season, making it one of the chain’s premium options.

MiM Mallorca: wellness, pools and spa overlooking the Mediterranean
The Mallorca hotel is designed as a retreat for rest and well-being.
It features 98 rooms, two pools, a spa, a sauna and a hammam, plus spaces dedicated to relaxation. The concept blends nature, contemporary design, and luxury services.

The average price hovers around 200 euros per night, though it varies by date.

MiM Baqueira: snow, mountains and a Messi-themed suite
In the Arán Valley, next to the Baqueira Beret ski resort, lies one of the chain’s most distinctive hotels.

MiM Baqueira has 141 rooms with an aesthetic that blends warm materials like wood and stone, in harmony with the mountain landscape.

One of its main attractions is the Messi Suite, a themed space inspired by the footballer and designed especially for fans of the Argentine star.
Rates start at roughly 150 euros per night.
MiM Andorra: luxury in the mountains with a chef-driven restaurant
The Andorra hotel is one of the chain’s most recent additions.
Located in Escaldes-Engordany, it offers 31 rooms and a principal 62-square-meter suite with a private terrace and a jacuzzi.

Additionally, it features a high-end culinary offering linked to a Michelin-starred chef.
Standard rooms start from around 200 euros per night.

MiM Sotogrande: the Mediterranean retreat beside the marina
Messi’s sixth hotel is located in Sotogrande, one of the most exclusive areas of Cadiz.
The MiM Sotogrande Club Marítimo sits opposite the marina and features 45 rooms, many with terraces and sea views.

It is a concept aimed at those seeking tranquility, nautical vibes, and a Mediterranean lifestyle.
Double rooms start around 230 euros per night, while suites can exceed 500 euros.

Messi’s business grows beyond football
With six boutique hotels in luxury destinations, MiM Hotels has become one of Lionel Messi’s most significant investments outside the sport.
The Rosario-born player’s strategy was to invest in properties with a strong identity, where luxury is not only in the facilities but also in the experience: prime locations, gastronomy, wellness, and design.
Thus, while he continues to make history on the pitch, Messi has also built a business legacy that looks toward high-end tourism.
