In the midst of the countdown to the match between the Argentina national team and England for the 2026 World Cup semifinals, Jimena Barón surprised her followers by sharing the astonishing sequence of events she faced during her stay in the United States alongside Matías Palleiro, her children Momo and Arturo.
Through her Instagram Stories, the singer recounted how a theft, an unexpected return, and an armed operation marked just two days of travel.
The stroller theft that sparked Jimena Barón’s anger
It all began when Matías Palleiro left his son’s stroller unattended in the hotel corridor for a few minutes. When he returned, the stroller was gone.
Jimena said that from the very start she did not agree with that decision and did not hide her anger. “Of course I’m upset with Matías. I can’t joke yet because I’m serious. He said we should leave it outside for a little while. I told him no,” she stated.
The artist explained that, in a moment of desperation, she drafted signs in English and posted them in various corners of the hotel in an attempt to recover the stroller. “I’m not sure we’ll be able to sort this out before the England match,” she commented with irony.
Additionally, she noted that the hotel informed her there were no security cameras in the hallways, making it impossible to identify who had taken it. Although she filed a formal complaint, she admitted she did not have high hopes of recovering it.
The stroller’s unexpected appearance
The next day came news that changed the mood of the entire family. “I just opened my eyes. The stroller appeared,” Jimena said.
Later she explained that hotel staff told them that, in the United States, it is common to leave objects in the hallways for others to take away for free.
“The stroller was returned at the reception. They told us that here it is very common to leave things outside the room for someone to make use of. Obviously they thought we were giving it away, and when they saw one of the posters we had put up, they returned it,” she recounted.

With humor, she also highlighted the effort she put into recovering it. “I don’t understand the victory of management when I drafted a file in English for the hotel manager and I walked the halls putting up signs until one in the morning. But well, the stroller appeared,” she joked.

The shocking incident she lived through on the way to the airport
When it seemed the situation was resolved, the family endured another moment of maximum tension before heading to the airport to travel to Atlanta. “We’re at the airport and I feel that they won’t believe us after the stroller incident,” she began.
She then described the scene she witnessed just as they were leaving the hotel. “The doors opened to exit and there were people running armed, shouting. The typical movie scene where you think they’re going to start shooting,” she said.
According to her, a group of security officers intervened quickly and those present had to take cover.
“We ran back to the hotel. Everyone was shouting, we threw ourselves to the ground. I was waiting for Matías because he had stayed behind. Afterwards they took away a man and we never knew what had happened,” she recalled.
Despite the scare, Jimena reassured her followers and confirmed that she and her family were all right.
With these experiences, the singer summarized the true odyssey she endured before traveling to Atlanta to accompany the Argentina national team in a new stage of the World Cup.
