On Sunday, October 11, news broke of the death of Roberto Farías García, a 30-year-old Argentine from Pergamino, Buenos Aires Province, who died in a traffic accident in the Dominican Republic. The crash occurred in the town of Verón, in the Punta Cana area, while he was riding a motorcycle.
According to Dominican media outlets, the accident took place on Friday, October 9 in the afternoon, as Farías was traveling along the Frank Rainieri Tourist Boulevard. At that moment, a truck transporting stones performed a maneuver that left him in front of the motorcycle.
According to the reconstructions circulated by those outlets, the young man brake sharply to try to avoid the impact, but he lost control of the motorcycle and fell onto the pavement.
In those circumstances, the rear wheels of the truck ran over him, which caused his death at the scene. After the crash, his family took charge of the procedures to repatriate his remains to Argentina and began seeking justice for what happened.
Until now, the truck driver is reported to be under investigation by Dominican authorities to determine the circumstances of the accident and establish possible liabilities.

In recent hours, Roberto’s partner shared a message on Facebook in which she expressed her deep sorrow for the loss, thanked the support, and asked that justice be done.
“I want to wholeheartedly thank every person who has written to me, who has been thinking of me and our family, who has accompanied us, has offered words of comfort and has made us feel that we are not alone in the midst of so much pain,” she wrote.
In another portion of the post, she expressed the difficulty of facing such an unexpected loss and highlighted the support she received during these days.
“Today I have to face a reality I never imagined living. The pain is immense, but finding the support of so many people gives me the strength to move forward and to ask that justice be done for my Robert, my love,” she stated.
While her circle endures the grieving process and carries out the necessary steps to transport his remains to the country, their loved ones’ call for justice adds to the investigation aimed at clarifying how the accident occurred.
