16-Year-Old in Her Junior Year Dreams of Becoming a Veterinarian: The Story of Bere, the Teen Seeking Adoption

7 July 2026

Bere has been living in an institution in Santa Fe for more than a decade. Today she is **16 years old**, in the third year of high school, dreams of becoming a veterinarian, and decided to tell her story in the hope of finding a family to adopt her.

Her testimony was shared through a video posted by the Registro Único de Aspirantes a Guarda con Fines Adoptivos (Ruaga), an initiative that seeks to raise visibility of her story and bring closer the opportunity she longs for.

In the video, Bere introduces herself with simplicity and emotion. She says she is 16 years old and that for more than ten years she has lived in an institution where she shares her daily life with other girls and adolescents.

She is currently in the third year of secondary school and, when classes end, she enjoys spending time with her brothers and with her niece. She also has a very clear life project: she wants to study Veterinary Medicine.

Her deepest wish, however, is another: to have a family that accompanies her and sees her grow. The search is part of Public Call No. 32/23, promoted by the Family Court of San Cristóbal together with Ruaga.
